Default New 350Z hood comming

Just purchased a R&D 350z that I'm slowly building aero parts for. I have been making aero parts for the 3000GT for a long time and am now branching into other cars. I thought I would just post up some teaser pictures of my 350z and another hood I have done.

The hood will have fully functional ducting that splits off behind the scoop that will route air to the filter box on the right and left sides for all models of 350z.

We build hoods via vacuum infusion and should be able to keep the weight around 9-10lbs with a clear coat on it.

It looks great in person, hopefully I should have the hood finished in about 2 months.. Takes awhile to get the inner parts of the hood produced in stainless and make all the fixtures. The scoop is a hand crafted modernized update of the Naca duct used for years.. The scoop is our companies signature scoop design

The 360 is the other R&D car that we are working on..

now all you need is a vendorship so you can sell them.

I like the underside of the 3k. Do you use traditional vacuum techniques or resin infusion? keep it up.

Sent the admin an email about that, so hopefully soon.. We use resin infusion as a standard for our carbon.

the fiberglass hood i had on my 3k weighed in at 24 lbs. lighter than the carbon options available for that particular car. the first carbon hood cianci made for the 3k was 16 lbs. were working on getting that weight down to 12-14.

the 3k hood is quite a bit larger than the 350z hood.

this hood has been out for the 3000gt/stealth for the last 6 years. never once had an issue with water ingestion. there are many here in oregon/washington running it with no problems. ppl are usually more concerned with the vents seen on the red hood than water into the scoop.
i personally drove my VR4 in very heavy rain with this hood and a K&N FIPK with no problems.

now if you were to drive in a torrential downpour and had a sealed airbox that is also sealed to the bottom of the hood it could build up enough water to cause issues but we wont build anything like that. there is the possibility of us building an airbox to seal to the bottom of the hood but it will have sufficient drainage in the bottom to prevent any kind of pooling.

Too many lines. Widen it so that it follows the OEM lines of the hood.
