New 350Z hood comming
Just purchased a R&D 350z that I'm slowly building aero parts for. I have been making aero parts for the 3000GT for a long time and am now branching into other cars. I thought I would just post up some teaser pictures of my 350z and another hood I have done.
The hood will have fully functional ducting that splits off behind the scoop that will route air to the filter box on the right and left sides for all models of 350z.
We build hoods via vacuum infusion and should be able to keep the weight around 9-10lbs with a clear coat on it.

I like the underside of the 3k. Do you use traditional vacuum techniques or resin infusion? Reminds me of Cheston's drawing

the fiberglass hood i had on my 3k weighed in at 24 lbs. lighter than the carbon options available for that particular car. the first carbon hood cianci made for the 3k was 16 lbs. were working on getting that weight down to 12-14.
the 3k hood is quite a bit larger than the 350z hood.

this hood has been out for the 3000gt/stealth for the last 6 years. never once had an issue with water ingestion. there are many here in oregon/washington running it with no problems. ppl are usually more concerned with the vents seen on the red hood than water into the scoop.
i personally drove my VR4 in very heavy rain with this hood and a K&N FIPK with no problems.
now if you were to drive in a torrential downpour and had a sealed airbox that is also sealed to the bottom of the hood it could build up enough water to cause issues but we wont build anything like that. there is the possibility of us building an airbox to seal to the bottom of the hood but it will have sufficient drainage in the bottom to prevent any kind of pooling.
