sent some work to reputable forum member, now it's been nearly 2 months

Around May 21st I paid a forum member $100 and sent him my sidemarkers so he could change their LEDs to a more blue 6000K color. He is working several jobs now and has a busy schedule, which I can understand. However, it has now been 12 days since he has responded to any of my PMs...more disturbingly, I can see that he signs on almost daily and is surely seeing the PMs, just not replying. I know he has a great reputation on the forum so this all confounds me. It's now going on 2 months he's had my money and sidemarkers. At what point do you file a dispute with PayPal? Given his rep I hate to jump the gun, but this really seems out of hand.

I know I should have used the DIY LED tutorial, but it's a mute point now.

hmmm anyone else work close with him? Is he posting in other threads? If so politely call him out on those threads to reply to ur PM's... Good Luck I hate to see scammers but this might be one of those rare explainable situations.

This guy isn't a scammer for sure--probably everyone on the forums has heard of him but I don't want to use any names for fear of tarnishing it. He doesn't post in any other threads, which at least affirms that he is in fact busy. I guess I'm just wondering how much patience is really expected of me. I know...tough for any outsiders of the situation to really know for sure, I could just be venting.

regardless of how busy he is, he can't take 1 minute out of his day to let you know whats up??? talk about sheity service

azula Jul 13, 2008 10:34 AM

I would call him out if I were you. I understand you don't want to give him a bad name, however, he/she could at least have the decency to let you know why the work is taking so long. If they have enough time to sign on the forums, they have enough time to send you a PM, no excuses. IMO

good luck.

I agree. Politely call him out.

Risky_Business Jul 13, 2008 10:38 AM

Also...

agree. It's time to make a move...

Ahhh, a development:

By no small coincidence, he PMed me today! (certainly nothing to do with the thread, I'm sure) Anyway, he said that he's received about 30 different LEDs in but none of them matched the 6000K color I'd asked for so he's returning the money and sidemarkers. The project had become a pain in his a$$ on top of that, so he's glad to have it gone. It's regrettable that after 2 months I have the same thing that I did in May, but it's better than nothing at all!

Good to hear they got back to ya and is willing to give everything back. I'm sure you'll find someone who can help you out on this. I think we all know who you're talking about and know they usually do top notch jobs and are reputable but there's always exceptions.

contraststriker Jul 24, 2008 12:56 PM

So it's been nearly two weeks since he said he shipped the sidemarkers back with the money and I've got nothing. This is getting totally ridiculous.

Who is the member?

Say it. There is no reason to hide something like this. Why should another member be jerked around by someone like that? Reputation is built off of customer satisfaction. You werent satisfied in the least so let everyone know.

Pun1sh3RZ Jul 24, 2008 02:51 PM

Yeah I would prefer not to by chance have this happen to me also and could have been avoided.

Yeah I guess you're right. Well, like I said before, he's not really doing work for anyone anymore so this may be a mute point but the member is Acree.

haeshik Jul 24, 2008 06:12 PM

Acree? damn i know he does very good work

Boba Jul 24, 2008 09:31 PM
