Installing a *DRIVER'S* side glove box

I'm looking into upgrading the sound system in my car, and installing a CarPC. I have a BOSE system (touring model), and want to take out the sub behind the drivers seat to make use of the space.

I'm trying to keep things clean and would like to install a full glove box with door and latch on the drivers side. I'm assuming this is possible since the right hand versions of the Z must have had the glove box on this side.

So has anyone does this? If so what parts do I need to find to do this?

why would you put a glove box? The box will still take up much of the room that it has. I use that side to hide my amps, plx gauge controller's, and the Mexicans i help cross the border!

if anything you may want to buy the panel with the door on it, but i wouldnt go as far as installing the box behind it as well. I would just make a floor on the structure thats there and use the door taken from a junk yard car or something and install it on the drivers side to have access.

the junk yard doors a good idea, but i think the shape is made for right side and it wont fit on the left side. (only guessing) But i'd drill a finger hole in the panel you have now and yeah design a shelf system inside the space. That way u can just finger hole snap off the panel and reattach with no problems.

you need all these parts to do the driver side glove box.

That's neato! good option for everyone who has no sub back there...since the Z is a bit sparse on storage.

Does your key work on both?

the only down side is that the key only works one side. i'm not to worried about that, i'm just happy that i have more storage space when i need it.

The problem is I live in an apartment, and don't have a good place to work. I need to be able to do most of the work in my apartment and then basically just bolt whatever changes I make directly to the car. The Z has the benefit of the center console coming easily and completely out of the car. So I'm trying to find a way to mount the actual computer in my apartment, as I would be able to to do with anything in the center console

So that diagram helps a lot, but what parts are different between the LH and RH sides? I've heard the roadsters have a driver's side glove box. Is this true? I want to go to a junk yard to find the parts I need. So I need to know if I should only be looking at roadsters or if a regular RH glove box will also fit on the left.

I have the driver' side glove box too. I had it installed two years ago. To fix the key issue, I simply purchased a new Nissan lock that came with its own key. Good luck with this.
