350z with spoiler installed by dealer
Hey guys, just got me a 08 350z base, MT. Anyways, the dealer had installed some random spoiler on my Z, and i was wondering if, by the looks of it, if i were to remove my spoiler and install a nismo v1 spoiler, would the holes get covered up or would i have to do some body work to fix the holes?
First pics i have ever taken of my Z btw.
Let me know what you guys think. I love the car, got it for a good price, but i cannot get over how hideous that spoiler is.

I think you might be safe taking that spoiler off and getting the nismo but you need to take closer better angled shots. As someone mentioned the Nismo might infact cover whatever holes if there is any.

depends on where the holes for that particular spoiler are at. i havent seen that spoiler before, but here's mine for quick comparison. i know v1 has bolt holes clear out to the outer edge, and it being a nissan spoiler, the holes match up nicely with the openings on the underside of the hatch lid.
it looks like u.... just.... might.... clear it.

Congratulations on your purchase, it won't hurt to ask the dealership to remove the spoiler and fill in the holes. If the final financial documents haven't been signed yet, you'll have some leverage. That usually happens about 2 days after you drive it off the lot (that has happened to me in purchasing 2 of my last 3 cars).

well judging from the two posted pictures.......it looks like the OP's spoiler mounts to the outside of the "350z" badge....just past the "3"
and looking at Diablox1 pic, it looks like the Nismo mounts inside the "350z" badge.....right about in the middle of the "5 and the 0 (zero)" is located??
then again, it could just be me and these bad angle pics........but if someone could just measure, that would solve the problem of guessing..

Good luck on this. If you want to go spoiler-less another option may be to check the marketplace for anyone selling their OEM rear hatch and you could just swap it out.
And I like how all these people are like "Take that thing off now!" meanwhile the guy says right in his first post "...I cannot get over how hideous that spoiler is". Pretty frustrating when people can't read the entire post before replying.
