Here's an idea...

How about a motorized spoiler for the Z? Does anyone know where they are being sold (if they are even made).

I know the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 has a spoiler that is motorized which moves at certain speeds :icon11:

wow, that was one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard, [sarcasm]let's just make a "crossfire" edition z, that'd be kool  [/sarcasm]

probably not something you would find in the aftermarket. But, a custom autobody shop should be able to fabricate something. With enough money, you can have anything.

Say you take the NISMO spoiler and mount it on a panel that has small rams attached at each end. You could set it up so that you hit a switch to raise or lower the wing. And, I suppose with a little more tweaking you could make it raise/lower automatically by tying it into a speed sensor.

The VR4 has motorized front and rear spoilers designed to direct airflow when the car is moving at high speeds. The front moved air to the side instead of under the car. The rear acted like an airplane wing generating mild downforce.

The Porsche Boxster has a similar reteacting wing to create rear downforce. The 911 Carerra has a motorized spoiler that redirects air over the back of the car, creating mild downforce.

On the Z it would be great for looks and that "bling, bling" factor, but it probably won't be as functional as those found on the other cars.

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch Audito350Z. I'm just trying to think of something that has not been done to any Z yet. You are right about the "bling, bling" factor also. I thought it would be functional, but if its not then screw it....ATI Procharger, here I come! ;)

yeah too much work, and itd be hard to make it look good, those with automated wings are flush with the body when down... not worth it, plus thats all for looks, wings produce very little downforce at even highway speeds, plus cars have no problems performing properly at those speeds sans wing.
