Black emblem peeps, how'd you all do it?
I'm very inclined to get my stock emblems painted black (I have a Nismo so not only do I need the front and back burgers painted, I also need to paint the chrome Nismo on the right side of my hatch).
I know most of you all removed them, applied paint, and put them back on but how did you all put them back on? It seems to me that it was a PIA to cut 3M DS tape into the exact sizes to put them back or you all just super glued them back (which I refuse to do). Otherwise, I'm just going to take a bottle of G41 MB touch up paint and very carefully paint the emblems without removing them at all. |
if you dont remove them to paint without scuffing them up first the paint that you do apply is going to wear off after each washing, or just after time.
i pulled mine off and scuffed them up, primed and painted them. once they were dry i cut the ds tape to size. i personally would pull them off and paint them so that they are done right |

...it's not that difficult to take your time doing something right. Just put the tape on the backside of them and trim with a new/still sharp exacto knife...

do it the right way and buy Black Pearl Emblems from Courtesy Nissan...
expensive, but worth it if thats the look youre going for: http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-...=714_881_1243& i have them on my car and they look great :) |
The side emblems from courtesy are sold as a pair or single for $65?

On my list of things to do soon...

Buying the emblems from Courtesy would be the way to do it, but that Black Pearl don't look so black to me. Just pull 'em off and do it right. May be a little more time conuming but you don't want yer NISMO lookin' ghetto.
