Driver's side power seat has malfunctioned.
 

Hello everyone,

The driver's side seat no longer moves backwards and forwards in my car. When I use the switch to move my seat either forward or backward, the seat turns diagonally in its tracks. It's almost as if something is stuck in one of the tracks. I haven't been able to find anything in them however.

Nissan, of course, says this isn't covered under warranty. They want to charge me $800.00 to fix it.

I was wondering if it could possibly be the motor or maybe a switch has come unplugged? Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem?

i have the same problem. its the motor. thay dont sell the motor sep. only the seat and it 3000 threw nissan. find a used or wor out power seat and part it out:) thats the best bet less u wanna go racing seats.

Dont show up in your Z!! dresss like crap, and if they ask if its for you, say "NO, im working on this car for a customer of mine" pretend your a mechanic working on cars at your house or something....

also, they will most likely not part with the motor alone - unless the seat is trashed!! they may sell you the entire seat as a "whole" only - thats typical practice for most yards....
