CustomCFCreations/Tonester Quality of Work.. Eh hmm, not good for me!!
After a few weeks the poor work shows, ruined my door handle, B pillars and Crown Meter IMO.... :mad:
Im sure he didnt do such a poor job on his fenders or any work on his Z.. The parts cracked, peeled, crappy clear coat, rough and not sanded..... B pillars peeled off while driving.... Door handles pass side is really rough to the touch and not sanded or buffed well. All around the edges you see the lack of clear and polish. Crown meter was left cracked in the front and not even an attempt to fix.. Look at the pics.... New B Pillars going to cost me 130.00 New Door Handles going to cost me 170.00 All he offered was to re-do the B pillars (another 2-3wks) but im tired of crappy work so I dont want his services, I just wanted new stock B pillars at the least. But no.... He only refunded me the CF work, no refund for ruining my b pillars. So it all looked good when you installed it, it just didn't hold up? Or did it look like ass from the get go?

It seems like average work for wet laid up parts......
I have been there and done that with a buddy of mine that was all about the CF....... We put the mask on and got to spending "hours/days" in overlaying parts.......even the best products and perfect procedures will yield really good looking temporary parts....... put them on a car and beating sun and they will show their bad side quick.....CF isnt a buy it and forget about it either.....constant care and maintenance is required. but if they were not to your pleasing from the beginning then this was surely coming... IMHO CF shouldnt be overlaid on anything, it should be molded and replace parts for light weight, or in a hoods case - heat dissipation... race cars use carbon fiber to make bodies lighter etc.....not to dress them up and drive them daily....... I had the first few good parts from him, which led me to want more and more.. I then and wanted more but after the pillars fell apart and door handles werent quality I asked at least replacement B pillars at least and he wouldnt get me new stockers... Mine are ****ed! |

will he try again, and redo them? if not that blows... sucks on his part... |
i can't believe none of you guys can see from his work even on his own car. none of the parts ever looked professional.

Tony does good work...I have some. but what about all the initial praise for the door handles when u first got them back - It seemed like you were very pleased. As far as the b pillars, I don't know why he would be accountable if they weren't mounted properly. Sounds like something else went a little sour.

I would of been skeptical (longevity) from the get go especially with the intense texas sun. Instead of you keep ordering up parts you should of waited and saw how the first piece held up over time. At the same time he should disclose the above message before he touches anyone's parts to protect himself and to make the customer aware of what could possibly happen

It’s unfortunate about what happened, but I have nothing but positive things to say about Tonester and his work. He is a good guy and I’m sure he will try and fix things because he is not the type that will try to screw you over. So far he has done my headliner, rear strut, dome light surround and some door pieces and they all came out great. I hope things work out between you two.
