What bulbs to use to upgrade the stock HID's

O was wondering what the general feeling was for which bulbs make up the best replacement/upgrade for the stock headlights... I have the HID (enth) and im looking for something a little more blueish, sorta like when the bulbs first start up, before they warm up.. any suggestions, pros/cons?

yap....
they are some Japanese no brand bulbs, I got them for 300 Cdn. I would suggest you Phillips or Hella...they cost more though.

I am just curious as to why people call ANY bulb other than stock, an upgrade. How can a bulb that emits less light be considered an upgrade?

Different color, nicer appearance.. yes. Upgrade? NO.

With the naked eye, is it obvious that the stock light emits more light than say a 6000K light? If not, I would consider this an upgrade as it would look much better.

ya i guess upgrade was a poor choice of words.. didn't know the 6000k put out less light thought, maybe ill think twice about switching them

To my nekked eye, yes.

To my camera, yes.

Pics to prove my point? Sure...

Not only do the quality from these bulbs vary, but so does the performance. There are too many questionable companies selling 6000+ kelvin bulbs that are just inconsistent in build quality.

As you can see, side-by-side comparisons of 4200k vs 6000k, the 4200k will eventually overlap the blue as it is indeed a more powerful bulb.

You asked for an "eyeball test" which is what I am showing you. Let there be no doubt that a light meter will definately put an end to the "6000k upgrade" discussion.
