Carbon Fiber Roof question (not the cover)

So I'm searching around, and all I see is people with the panel, although it looks good, I'm looking to see if anyone actually makes a carbon roof...if you have it pics?

fyi, I've seen that Seibon has it, but there is nothing that actually shows it's a full roof.

advice needed.

Why are you looking for a replacement type CF roof? Weight? I'm sure quite a bit of structural rigidity would be lost in cutting out the OEM roof.

there used to be one around but developed cracks over time and was removed from market, it required cutting and welding in cross bracing, if your looking on saving that weight, a diet would be the way to go, Ive cut top off one to transplant to a rolled one and must say it didn't weight much at all. I have a guy in my area that will build you a titanium one but its money..

if it were availbile i would not think about doing it anyway. but the real question is why are you interested in such a thing?

This is your 1st post since joining a year ago?

Removing your roof would kill the structure, and the reinforcements you would have to add would ruin the weight loss goal.

Fully caged and braced, great idea. If not, not a great idea.

LOL... Are you happy now!

The roof is an actual wrap I thought since it has a part number. But like homeboy just said, fully caged and braced would prevent body flex which in turn would help a cf roof from stressin then crackin.

Good feedback, I was thinkin about making a titanium cross brace and then caging it... I don't see why it's possible for the M3 to have one and not for the Z... there is a way to get around this, just gotta figure it out... I work at a body shop, so I have access to being able to play with it... just gotta wait till I have a daily before I start putting serious mods into this car. Goal is to make it a full track car eventually...

BTW... I've turned this body shop into a Z body shop... already painted and hooked up a handful.

PS. I usually just search and find what I need... I dont really post too often. Plus, any free time I have, I spend it adding unnecessary miles to my car...:)
