Down Force Meter. Anybody ever use one?
I came across an ARC downforce meter and was curious if anybody has ever used anything like this or has any feedback. I know ARC makes some great products and the price tags are usually pretty high but I am really unsure of how useful this would be

I've never even heard of it. Do you track the car though? Sounds like it would only be useful if you do some serious tracking driving.

Link?

You could have just asked me (if you found this on eBay).
I had one in my Supra for years, it does quite a bit more than just measure load. |
Need to look these things up, could be cool for tuning my aero.

Interesting. So it has a sensor that measures the downforce on the trunk lid.

Waste of money, IMO... unless you're into some serious racing that has you considering minute changes in rear downforce.

I just looked at one of these the other day on ebay.

Nope, just a waste of money. There is no way to measure front downforce. A transducer hooked up to suspension front and rear would be more ideal.
You act as if it's impossible to make a hinge to transfer downward force into the load cells, with little input from drag. If you have a proper front diffuser mounted to the frame rails most of the work is already done, very simple and cheap. |
I read an old supra forum where a guy used one of these. They are only for the rear and mount somehow under the weather stripping to measure how much force is being exerted on your hatch/trunk. This product isn't for front downforce so why bother arguing about it.
Sure this thing is a gimmick but its hella jdm yo! |
^ hella JDM yo indeed lol
