Made my own shift knob
1 Attachment(s)
I work at a machine shop and about a week ago i made my own shift knob. works well! let me know what u guys think
i would think it being so squared off that it would be uncomfrotable
So uncomfortable that it makes you want to shift faster so you don't have to touch it as long...Genius!
lol, postiive spin on anyhting works
Looks like crap :/
Why did you not do something more creative.....radius on top? Grooved body? Anything?
Twenty + year machinist myself and if ya want me to draw you something up let me know and I'll PM you the CAD. |
it's pretty...hideous.
Why have I not thought to do this at my job? I could even get the thing powder coated any color when it's done. Hmm
Not bad for your first attempt bro. The haters that are telling you it sucks probably need assistance to brush their own teeth at night.
not a fan. sorry.
how is a girl supposed to sit on that?!?!
Hahahahohohehehehahahaha!™
that thing is unlubeable
Join date March 2012, first post is a DIY. Way to go. Like said above I would have put a radius rather than a chamfer on top. But as a first attempt, I would say good job.
Like it...and I'm not easily impressed.
Very original design. I especially like the graduated shaft. Bet you'll get some guys wanting to buy one. Have you given any thought to that? |

haha it is my first one more to come, have been a machinist for a little over two years and this was done on an old engine lathe, so having a radius will come its just a simple design, not for everyone. It pretty hard to justify 50 dollars for something that could be made in my own shop.

You are working on company time, using company materials and equipment. All of that costs more than $50.00.
