thoughts...my 350z like a R8?

so i'm sitting on my couch looking at the R8 with my Ipad. Then something hits me, since i'm a little bored of my car i'm looking to change it up a little but still keep my scheme going. so i come accross this pic with the R8 (below) and start looking at the carbon fiber black strip on the side of the car.

I make few calls and if i want i can add the carbon fiber strip to my car for a couple of bucks, not to expensive so the price is right.

Only thing is i dont know if i want to do it. I talked to a few people mostly guys from the VW scene and they all for the most part are telling me not to do it. I have few friends saying go for it, it will look sick.

what are your thoughts on this......I figured it would match my scheme perfect and give it a little flavor.

if anyone can do a photoshop on this i would appreciate it...i did a little something on paint but not the greatest.

but back to the point....should i do it or not :confused::confused::confused:

this would be done in VINYl wrap so i can take it off when i get bored of it.

again for the little kids in the room...i dont want my car to be an r8 nor do i like that car i just like the aspect of the strip on the side of the car and potentially might look good with the scheme i have going. eat your hearts out now.

Worry about fixing your window door strip seal, paint on your rear lip, curbage on front wheel and gas cap closing correctly.
I like your car, but the strip is a horrible idea and I had to bash you

If the job can be done correctly I think it would look tasteful and add a nice unique twist that hasn't been done yet on a 350z. Yes you might get bashed by the 'purists' but when it's your car and YOUR money it's ultimately do YOU like it? I personally think it's simple enough to where it would look good if executed correctly.

exactly this is where my head was at. i know purist will always knock it but i'm trying to do it tastefully or not do it at all.

your right about it being in my car..but i like to come on here because you usually get the truth and not "oh it looks good" when they really dont like it in person

No, might as well buy that ferrari body kit while you're at it.

You just posted on another thread that you hate 2 tone paint jobs. This is not far off...

Please don't. You have a 350Z, not a R8. Keep it that way.

i guess but i dont see how this is close to two tone..

fellas its not about being like an r8 mabye i should have titled it better. but really just about a different look i was going for. I guess im trying to step out of the same old typical $hit we see. Now maybe this is not the best choice but just exploring the options for the Z

It has been done before. A high school kid had a thread about it nearly a year and a half ago.

I'm all for personalizing your car and doing whatever you like, but one thing to think about is, do you want to look like you're pretending to have a R8 - or look like you have a Z car that you're proud of:

Poser R8

or

Real 350Z

boliviandaddy23 04-29-2013 10:29 AM

the ones you call "friends" telling you to "go for it it will look sick" are NOT YOUR REAL FRIENDS!!! or if they meant it THEY SHOULDN'T BE YOUR FRIENDS!!! influencing RICE on a amazing car...give me your keys NO 350z for YOU!!!! lol but seriously don't do it you have a 350z NOT a R8...so love the 350z for what it is not for what you wish it was...with that said CLOSE THREAD

mk3vento96 04-29-2013 10:37 AM

It has been done before. I made a thread a few years ago where I posted his pics and we all made fun of him and blasted him.

Here is the link:

(ZzzzzZ) 04-29-2013 11:34 AM
