Clock spring/ airbag clock spring? HELP!

Hello, I bought my Z with an aftermarket steering wheel and hub etc on there. but the thing I noticed was the signal lights would not automatically switch back. I would have to manually switch them to the "off" position. I am in the process of buying a stock steering wheel but I want to get this problem diagnosed and fixed before I make that commitment. Im almost 100% sure it is my clock Spring thats broken... I have found one online but it is displayed as "Airbag Clock Spring"

So lets go back to the main topic here haha... is the "clock spring" the same as the "airbag clock spring" which will let me fix my signal light dilemma?

I believe that is the clock spring you need, but I'm not sure that will resolve your direction indicator problem. You might have a mechanic take a look at your problem and get his input.

I doubt any of the circuitry for the turn signals (assuming that's what you mean by "signal lights") passes through the clock spring. You need to look at a wiring diagram in the service manual to be sure, though.

If the turn signals work except for turning off as the wheels returns to straight ahead, it's more likely a mechanical problem in the combination switch.

Service manual here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/coupe/2007/ The parent directory has different years. The idx.pdf is an alphabetical index.

It is the clock spring, I had the same problem, the clock spring has a little piece that switches the turn signal off or on when the steering wheel moves, once I installed the new clock spring it worked just fine..

Thanks for that info. It didn't occur to me that a piece on the clock spring would actuate the mechanism on the combination switch.

The previous owner probably removed the clock spring when he switched steering wheels.

Thanks for the help... I was able to find it on someone who was parting out.... it has fixed my problem.
