Could anyone please tell me what's the purpose of the metal cube in the trunk (on the passenger side) is, and if it's safe to remove it?
I'm attaching a picture to help with identification of this component. Araphel |

I'm attaching a picture to help with identification of this component. Araphel That's a harmonic chassis weight, used to deaden vibration from the road. I can't say for sure but I'd guess if you remove it, there's going to be some additional NVH. It's there for a reason - trust Nissan engineering. There's usually two in the car, one in front somewhere, and the one in back. I'd even venture a guess that a JDM (right hand drive model) has the same.... on the left side of the car to distribute weight more evenly. Up to you. I don't need no steenkin' harmonics, thanks. |
Thank you for your answer MicVelo!

Uhhhh, sure. A thank you 3.5 years later is actually reassuring to me to know that “manners” havn’t gone out of style after all. Laff... 🤣👍 |
