windshield tint?

Hey I was looking around the forum and wasn't able to find any information on this or if anyone had even tried it (I doubt no one has) but has anyone heard anything about tinting your entire windshield with maybe a 50%? I think it would give the car a really nice finish, I know I can probably get in **** for having it done but seeings as my drivers/passenger are already tinted at 5% it shouldn't be a huge deal, or do you think having a 50% windshield would attract some or more unwanted attention?

I don't think that's a good idea, and I honestly don't know why you'd want to...

only cops are allowed to tint their front windshields.

do it, crash car, see if insurance covers it

I've known a decent amount of people over at The370z that have done it, and personally I think it looks great but all personal preference of course. I just have yet to find a 350z with it done so figured what harm done in asking.

I can't speak for your laws but here in CA you wouldn't make it one mile before you have red and blues behind you

Very popular in Vegas, 50% is common , so is a lighter UV blocking tint.

i loved when i lived in NV i had 5% all the way around and 50% on my front window. it was great all the way till the sun set and i couldn't see out my back window

My front windshield is tinted 45%, sides and back are 15%. I absolutely love it during the day, but at night it can get a little tiring, especially if the road is not lit very well. I still have good visibility, just not as far as when it wasn't tinted. I've had 5% on the sides and back of an older car and that just felt dangerous to drive at night. I couldn't imagine that with the windshield tinted as well.

I've been pulled over twice for the just the windows on my car. The first time the officer said he was doing seatbelt checks and couldn't see into my car, this was in the middle of the day too. The second time, he said it was just because my windows were too dark. I think only one of them noticed that my windshield was tinted (first time getting pulled over). I played dumb and he said that I needed to have it looked at and removed because it looked darker than factory. Ended up being an $80 ticket, windows are still tinted.

Recommendations, if you decide to do it, don't go darker than 45%, and if you're already at 5% all the way around, I would honestly say skip it. And if you want the best of both worlds, I'd go with 30% sides and back (legal here in GA, plus you'll have better night visibility) and 45% on the windshield.

Hope this helps

Do you have a rear shot of your car? I'm loving the rear spoiler

I have 50 on windshield and 15 all around. Been like that for 5 years now and love it, no complaints. Only got pulled over twice but let go both times. I have it on my wife's car as well.

Looks much darker on a white car... Both cars have 50 and 15.
