First Mod Decision

I'm getting an 03 350 in about a week and I was wondering what the first mod I should do to it should be?? I was already thinking about the headlights and I know the 06+ look amazing but they are a little out of my price range. I was also thinking about the stereo system. I need suggestions and item names. I'm working with around $450 budget. Any help would be appreciated thank!

Get it running good

change all fluids. Drive it for a while and see if there's any issues...

Again, I question this need to modify cars (any cars) as the first merit badge of ownership WITHOUT getting the basics taken care of first.

As mentioned, you need to make sure the car is sound by doing what's been suggested above.

Then, get used to the car, the way it drives, the way it handles and then, and only then, will you know what it really needs. I'm throwing this number out there for the halibut but I'm guessing that more than 50% the people who buy Zs can't advantage more than 50-60% of the car's potential out of the box stock.

But I gotta stop here cuz I'm gettin' too soapboxy as usual.

If you're interested in stereo upgrades, look at Crutchfield and enter your car's specs in their guide and look carefully at their suggestions.

I've been tracking mine for 3 years and would venture to guess I'm only getting maybe 75-80% of out it!

My first mod was the stereo just because the BOSE system is such junk and I've always had a killer setup so no stock system seems acceptable.

Maintenance. Diff/tranny/engine oil.
If you have $400 specifically for mods I would do Depo headlights(they are about $350?) if you're looking to replace headlights specifically.

450 wont get you much, put it away for when you need tires

Exactly. I *might* be at that level. Maybe. Possibly. Wishfully. I just know that if you put Nico Rosberg or Dai Yoshihara at 10/10ths behind the wheel of my car, I'll feel small. :icon17:

Exactly correct. Anything you can do for $450 (except for maybe a good set of swaybars and end links) will just be pissed away for no real gains. If the swaybars don't interest you (since no one will see them), save the money, or use it for baseline maintenance (fluids, filters, belts, brake pads, etc.)

We'll be more than happy to help you spruce up your exterior...AFTER you swap out fluids/do maintenance :)
