Default Sparco R600 seats

So i picked up a set of R600's for a steal, $500 for the set, great right? heres the bad news though... I spoke with a sales rep to get info on everything I needed to get the seats installed properly and they simply will not fit. Here's a quote from the email,

"Three is bad though......425 Motorsports is not just Sparco's Bracket
manufacturer, but they're also Sparco's West Coast distributor, and so
trust me when I tell you that Dan told me this just now on the phone
himself...to me....the R600 seats....they won't fit in your car. Yep...he said it might fit in there somehow, but not correctly and the
headrest portion of the R600 will touch the interior roof of your 350z.
I said but what if he just reclines the seat back further....he sighed
and said, Nahla.....let him know it won't be because the bracket is not
low enough, and it's not anything that's wrong except that seat won't
work for that car. After you butcher up everything and hammer out some
parts, at the end of the day and a fistful of money spent on
modifications and don't forget your time which is time is money and so
don't do it. Get the brackets but sell the seats and save yourself the
emotional anguish and heartache."

do you guy's have any suggestion's on what I should do? should I try and huck them or bust my *** trying to get them to fit myself, or talk to my fabricators and see if they could help me out?

No seat deal is a good one unless the part fits. Why don't you just return the seats and get your $500 back?

I bought them from a buddy who's girlfriend was complaining about them taking up room in their closet. I doubt he'd give me the money back for the seats. I shot a line to my fabricators today to see if they can help me out.

if you got a deal on them (which it sounds like you did) why dont you just re-sell them? put them up on facebook or craigslist? You'll get your money back...

Unless you're really in love with these seats, re-selling them sounds like the best idea. When the local sales rep says these seats won't fit a Z33, they have an informed opinion on the subject. Even more, they have a vested interest in selling you a bracket or adaptor if one was available.

I think you said this but, you have had them in to test fit already right? If so this shouldnt be a mystery, a pretty simple thing to look at and assess the sitation, no?

You probably stand to gain one or two inches by fabbing a custom mount vs using a planted...otherwise youll have to modify the floor.

How much space do you need to make these fit? Nm, just sell them lol.

Well, sounds unanimous, sell them. I haven't test fitted them because buying all of the mounting equipment (bracket, base, slider) is around 500$... free shipping, but if i have to send it back i'll be hit with a 100$ shipping charge. So i'm not going to go and buy the equipment when they say they'll hit the roof. I'm kinda attached to the seats so I hit up the fabricators to see what they can do and see how much $$$ they think it will run me. we'll see how it all goes, I'm going to pop my stock seats out tomorrow and set the sparco's in with nothing else to see what I'm actually in for. Thank you so much for your opinions guys!

Also, thanks for moving this for me! I spaced on where it should be posted and went to the HR thread because that's where most of my threads need to go. I apologize for my error.
