Plastic guard/undershroud

Half of the plastic guard under the front bumper of my 350Z got ripped off by a very low parking bumper. Best to replace with another or aluminum undershroud? What cost should I expect? A car novice....

The aluminum undershroud can be purchased from Z1 Motorsports for$189.00 plus shipping. I think the plastic part costs practically that much. https://www.z1motorsports.com/advanc...um+undershroud

^ What KC said, unless you can find one on the used market or at a local scrap yard, Z1 or TBW will be your best bet.

My local Nissan service department said no to aluminum and are preferring the plastic. This piece that broke off is the one that goes over/into the left wheel well. Apparently these come in 4 pieces and I may not need them all. I don't profess to understand, but will take my car there tomorrow for them to look at what I need, and will again discuss the aluminum under guard/shroud with them. Thanks for your response.

Of course the dealer will say the plastic is best. They don't sell the aluminum so they want your money.

Why wouldn't they sell the aluminum, if you know?

Most dealers will only sell OEM parts. The aluminum undershrouds are aftermarket parts made and sold by, Z1, Zspeed, and TBW.

Sure sounds that way. Maybe take a picture then someone here can identify the part.

Make sure your mounting holes on the bumpers are still intact. If they are broken you won't be able to install either of the under shrouds. If you post a picture we can help identify.
