how hard would it be to fix this dent in the quarter panel?

This if from a car im looking to buy. the owner says it was hit in a parking lot.

The door im already thinking id need to look to replace but how does the dent in the quarter panel look? repairable? because ive read how difficult a quarter panel replacement is.

Man,at best that thing needs to be pulled out by professionals. So you'd need to go find an estimate. Add that to the cost of a door. I never see these guys sitting around junkyards in Maryland. (I check semi-frequently.) So best of luck there. Also judging by the wrap etc I give it a 50/50 chance that wasn't caused by his driving so think about how it's been treated. IE: engine and transmission etc. You might consider walking away from this one.

from the pictures ive seen it doesnt look in too bad a shape, a gouge maybe the size of a quarter on the front bumper. missing one side skirt. engine sounded good.

im going to go take a look at it later i was just wondering about this quarter panel but even if it costs a bit i think this is a great deal. definitely need to inspect well though.

its an 08 with 92k miles and the price is really good

yea im not too big on the wide body kits but some people like em. if i picked it up id probably grab a different kit, maybe the nsm kit from VIS and just fill the holes with bondo or something

Bak3rme 11-21-2018 01:02 PM

the Z's rear quarter panel is pinch welded on. Its a pain to remove and install. Best bet would be to contact multiple body shops and get a quote.
Best route is that they say it doesn't need to be replaced but just repaired by pulling/pushing on the panel.
The door can be replaced yourself by finding local part outs. I got swiped on the side as well and replaced my door. Yet to go into body shop to get estimate on rear quarter panel tho

If that small dent is the only problem on the rear quarter, I doubt that you would need to replace the fender. I'm thinking you are looking at about $3000 to fix all of that. You might also want to look behind the fenders and in the wheel well. Lots of people cut out their fenders when putting on a wide body. If $8K is the price, it is way overpriced with that damage. $4K or maybe $5K would be a better price.

Run from that one, there are clean Zs out there unwrecked and not widebody.

Oh the horror!

Don't waste your time at a body shop. They'll probably **** something else up. Call a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy or company.

its around the better prices you listed for sure, but if repairs are gonna cost $3000 alone i may have to skip depending on how much it costs to fix the quarter panel

true however they arent as cheap with similar mileage :/ widebody doesnt affect me much id probably remove the kit, bondo the holes and sell the kit. and put something a bit more subtle on

forgot to mention, he claims its this greddy kit and did no cutting to the fender, which is part of the reason im even considering this car as i agree, the kit is a bit too... eh
