How do you protect your fuel?
I would like to know if you have some strategy or just believe in the goodness of people.
I want to protect my cars from fuel thieves. I am thinking on different strategies but I always keep coming to the same conclusion. I think something practical that will give a little more peace of mind. I am convinced that thieves will get what they want every time, it is just a matter of time for them, but I also know that if you have your car with a little protection or better than the next car you will not be the victim. So I have been looking for key lock gas caps and I am disappointed. They use the most basic kind of key and I have even read the one key fits all so it does not seem to work.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....c37b45250c.jpg I have seen that there is even a way to open this fuel caps easily with something like this. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....6a3feb657.jpeg Can you suggest a system or gas cap that is a little bit better than OEM without protection? This kind of key seems to give a little more protection. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....6becd6316.jpeg I believe that they make some Harley gas caps with this key. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....9918e5ca08.jpg They even make this kind of Cap cover with a lock! Does not seem practical to me. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z....57349a964.jpeg So I would like to hear your solutions because every time I go to a parking lot or even when leaving the car outside my house my car is game! |
Doesn't your fuel door lock?

Wow I didn't know that fuel thieves were still a thing. I live in Baltimore where there are plenty of car jacking/ trying doors /smash and grabs. I've never once heard of people siphoning fuel. And lastly, this is why it wont happen.

Unfortunately we are having this problem in the area .

My garage works, then my ring camera will catch the person in the driveway. |
