That looks sharp! Why didn't you go with the headlight covers, too?

I have been talking with Andy on the headlights, don't know whether to go smoked or yellow, what do you think?

NismoKid Feb 28, 2004 06:51 PM

I haven't seen the yellow, but I've seen the smoked on a SB and it looked awesome. I'd say it would look just as good if not better on the Brickyard (plus, you have the smoked sidemarkers).

your car looks great btw.

i think i may need some yellow overlays

Wicked4u2c Feb 28, 2004 08:21 PM

EL Diablo Feb 28, 2004 08:31 PM

I bet all eyes are on you when your cruisin.

CatastrophZZ Feb 28, 2004 09:03 PM

hey! do you have chrome tint? for the headlights. that'd be bad azz!!! well it would look really good on silver Z's, like the SS.

krazy350 Feb 29, 2004 02:50 AM

u got a really nice z tim!

Tim'sZ Feb 29, 2004 04:48 AM

I think that he does have a lighter tint, not sure about a silver color though. Thanks for the props....

Reggi914 Feb 29, 2004 04:57 AM

That looks really great.

Bat's overlays look great, and your car is beautiful, I love that color. One question. The overlalys on the tail lights are very dark. When you hit the brakes, does enough light get past the overlay to let the guy behind know your stopping? I think the overlays look better on the darker cars. I thought about getting the tail light ones, but I think being so dark, they actually stand out rather than blend in on lighter colors like the chorme silver I have.

Tim'sZ Feb 29, 2004 05:24 AM

I was surprised at how much the light comes through the overlays, it really does not affect the light that comes through. I was concerned myself because the cops here are always looking for a reason to pull somebody over, but I have had local cops and state troopers pull up behind me and never even pay attention to the car.

Yea, the smoked taillights definetly look great on Brickyard and that color looks great in those as well. Can't wait to get my overlays

I get a few concerns of the Overlay being too dark. Different angles the Overlay looks darker thanm it really is. Actually, on a scale of 1-10, these are only 6! Cops here in San Diego are pretty tough on laws as well. I've never been pulled over for my Overlays.

Tim, they look hot on your ride man! As for the headlights. I can cut you a deal on 2 sets if you're undecided on yellow or smoke;).

BTW, here are the Overlays at night:) :

When you say "overlays", how are they installed? Do they truely go right over the red plastic brakelight covers or do they replace them?

How hard are they to install if you have to remove the OEM ones and put in the darker ones?

Randall Patters Feb 29, 2004 08:24 AM

super easy

I'ts just like window tint installation soap and water and a squigee. It's a film that goes over the lights.

Dr Bonz Feb 29, 2004 09:41 AM

I did some reading on other threads and it sounds like it is "peel and apply". Is this correct? In other words, it's like applying a sticker?

Tim: I really like this look and am considering it for my Brick. I am thinking on going with the same setup you have (the smoked front sidemarkers, the smoked brake lights, and the smoked rear bumper lights). Does the smoke diminish the rear white "back up" lights at all or can you still see really well behind you when you reverse at night?

Thanks!
