To change the shape or size of the stock window would increase the price greatly having to get your glass cut to fit, or have another company produce the glas to fit.

50 +- pounbds isn't a lil weight... That is pretty substantial. If this comes out and is really under or around a grand I'll be picking one up and getting some Lexan cut for it... Should save even more... enough to even out the freaking weight of my amps >

I was referring to the design of the rear glass itself. How much weight would be saved by cutting out a few inches of glass?

What is this about front fenders to fit +22mm wheels better? This is very good news as my drivers side fender has a nice dent and chipped paint on it. And i've been needing to buy some tires, but its hard finding a size that will look good and not stick way out with my wheels. Keep us updated on this body kit. I'll be getting one as soon as you say 'go'.

i completely agree that lexan or even a smaller peice of glass will lighten the hatch considerably, the rear glass has to wiegh atleast 30-40 lbs. Just concerned about additional costs.
I can see easily losing close to 100 lbs. with the carbon fiber hatch matched with a lexan window That's about a .10 of a second in the 1/4

Check this link out. The stuff can't be too bad. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/progla...ing.htm#custom
And some Honda boys... http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=...postid=9627105
But do you like rivets?
The little plane I fly at our airfield has a huge canopy made of plexiglass. We use a plastic polish to clean it when it gets a ton of bug impacts. If you just wipe up and down only, the scratches really aren't visible. I'd assume lexan would go the same way.

raw lexan will scratch easily, however it will absorb ALOT of impact. You can get them in different thickness' and color. They also make scratch resistant lexan which has a special coat on it. Im not sure how much they go for. The prices vary according to what special features you require such as, heat, weather, and scratch resistance.

not sure how hard it is to work with lexan but i have used plexiglass before and if you have some saws and tools you can shape it yourself quite easily. so long as your handy why not make your own rear window. you will even have the old one for a template???
