Please read! I have a 2007 350Z VQ35HR with about 157,000 miles currently. I got it at about 136k miles. It came with a Z1 V2 CSC elimination kit installed with a z1 clutch and flywheel kit recently installed.

Pre context incase this might help: One day the car suddenly stopped going into gear about a year in. This was about 12,000 at most 14,000 miles on the z1 clutch and flywheel. I drive the car normally and know how to drive a manual properly, although I do occasionally drive it aggressively.

I had to install washers the slave cylinder to get the clutch to fully disengage. After doing that, the clutch engagement point was very close to the floor.

Fast forward to now. When I pulled everything apart to install a new clutch and flywheel I purchased. I noticed the throwout bearing was in pretty poor condition.

I installed an ACT XACT Streetlite flywheel (Part #600590) and a Competition Clutch Stage 3 clutch and pressure plate (Part #6073-2600). I reused the clutch fork and pivot ball from the Z1 CSC elimination kit and installed a new Z1 throwout bearing and pilot bushing.

The hydraulic system appears to be working properly, and the throwout bearing seems to be moving as it should. However, I can only shift into gear when the engine is off. As soon as the engine is running, I cannot get the transmission into gear.

I also have a Wilwood master cylinder available, along with an '03 350Z release fork and pivot ball if those would make any difference.

At this point, I'm not sure if I'm dealing with a clutch/flywheel compatibility issue, a stack-height problem, an incorrect release fork/pivot ball setup, or possibly a pilot bushing installation issue.

I'm not a mechanic, but this is my daily driver, and I love my Z. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what might be causing this? I've searched extensively and haven't been able to find a clear answer.

Thank you

Bought 6 brand new Oem Coilpacks for a 350z Hr and was looking at the boot and seen these imperfections. Kind of looks like arcing when a coilpack starts to go bad but they are brand new never used….. Will this cause any issues or its just a small imperfection from when they were making the boot. Its only on 2 coilpacks the other 4 do not have that.

2005 Nissan 350z / Anniversary Edition / Auto Trans / Brembos

ABS, BRAKE, VDC and SLIP light all on my dash. Scanner cannot communicate with abs module.

Proceeded to check basics, found fuse in IPDM Box labeled Brake to be blown- attempted to replace fuse to rescan but fuse immediately and violently blew.
Unplugged all connectors going to abs module and fuse continued to blow.

Okay... so short to ground present in harness leading from IPDM to ABS module, I proceeded to unplug connectors off the IPDM until said fuse no longer received power - (In this case ground). I found the corresponding harness and confirmed fuse no longer blew when harness was unplugged.

I had an oversight and didn't even bother checking online for a wiring diagram before continuing but, I backprobbed said harness and found which wire was grounding out the IPDM, I unhooked that one wire and short to ground was no longer present.

I was lazy and did a continuity test rather than removing cowl and wipers and following the wire physically leading to the ABS module. I found what I thought to believe was the correct wire through a continuity test from harness to harness, (Which I now realize is a flawed way to check, don't chew me out too bad lol), I ran a new wire -- (Again because I didn't want to remove cowl, have to uncharge the ac and remove ac lines and remove brake lines then have to bleed the brakes) -- with the new wire ran and everything hooked back up the short to ground was gone, the fuse no longer blew and the pump runs... great! Right? Well... now the pump runs but runs constantly and stays on even when car is off but ignition on. Still on my idiocy I figured the relay built into the module might've been damaged so I just ordered a new module and threw it in knowing it was unlikely, with the new module in the symptoms remain the same.

I'm now trying to find a wiring diagram on the FSM, but it's honestly, hard to read.

I'm not afraid to admit my rush job was wrong and I understand I didn't do a proper diag before proceeding with attempted repairs.

I'm humbly asking for assistance before proceeding any further, with reading the FSM. It almost appears to me as if the FSM shows a different style ABS module than mine. I have attached a photo of my style abs module...

I appreciate any insight and feel free to chew me out lol. :icon32:

Hello,

I have a canadian 2005 350z roadster that I'm importing to the US, and I am swapping the instrument cluster to a used US one with MPH in the outer ring of the speedometer.

In the process, I want to clone my old odometer reading on to the new cluster. I guess I'd need to convert Kms to miles on the EEPROM memory chip somehow, I want to try doing it myself if it's not a difficult process.

Has anyone successfully done this before? If so, what sort of tools would I need? Any instructions would be appreciated! Thanks.

I need to recalibrate my speedometer. I know this question has been asked, but the only answer I've ever been able to find is, "you have the wrong size tires."

My z has been dropped 1.2? Inches in the back and the fenders have been rolled bc I'm running 20 inch wheels. I'm not even going to state my tire size bc I know they are the "wrong" size. I don't care. I like the way it looks. I like the way it rides. I like the way it handles. I'm not changing my wheels and tires.

So how do I calibrate my speedometer?

My new to me convertible will not secure all the way down Someone outside this forum said maybe the brace thing needs to be moved slightly one way or the other. I don't think so. I read elsewhere there is a motor that clamps down on this "hook" to secure it to body of car. I know it is not urgent as the car stays in the garage and does not get driven in rain. Nonetheless I need this fixed. Is there some sort of motor or mechanism I can access and repair myself i.e. if in fact it is a small motor I can pull, plug in and replace? Thank you for any help as you guys are the experts!. .

i just had my z (03 touring 6spd) in the shop to get all three position sensors changed. that would be camshaft bank A and B, as well as the crankshaft sensor. what's odd is when i picked it up he told me he only changed 2 sensors because he "couldn't find a crankshaft slot in the center" and that the only part that fit in one of the camshaft slots WAS the crankshaft sensor he ordered. and the even weirder part is that the car drove home perfectly fine with no issues, codes, or sputters. can someone explain to me where the sensors are located and how they differ from eachother so i can make sense of this? either i read something wrong online or my car is somehow driving with mismatched sensors and possibly one missing entirely?? maybe i understood the mechanic incorrectly but any help is appreciated. thanks.

So its safe to say the previous owner to my 05 z33 was kinda careless and dumb. And i was young and dumb for buying it. But now i am in too deep with the car and plan on never ever selling it so i need to fix all issues with it. This might be a tough one which is why i need guidance. It seems like the PO tried to convert the battery to a side post style for some reason, and in the process he just cut the 2 wires/clips that clip into an OEM fusible link on the positive terminal. Will include pic to show what im talking about—

—though i have no pictures of my own car since its at the body shop getting painted. Right now i have a generic auto store terminal on there and every couple of months the cables get a little loose and cause the car to not start so i have to go in there and re tighten. Been wanting to fix this issue for a while but never really knew where to start so i figured asking you guys. Thanks in advance!
