How can you tell if a vendor is legit?

I am looking to buy a motordyne tdx2 exhaust system but don't want to buy from a vendor who will scam, can anyone recommend one?

The vendors I saw that are selling that system are: JM auto racing, b2 auto designs, and I forget the vendors name but the website was conceptzperformance

Excellent question. All our approved vendors are listed on the 2nd red bar under "Vendor Directory. "

They have been vetted, and are legit.

Awesome thanks for the help!

Don't buy from JM. He has nothing in stock, he's a drop-shipper. Check for reviews using Google. Worst vendor experience I've ever had. Here's a screenshot of the warehouse where everything is "in stock":

B2 Designs, CZP, Z1, ZSpeed are all good vendors - if they say they have something in stock, they do, they won't add extra charges, and they'll do everything they can to help you.

I second that, seen too many negative threads created about them to take on the risk of doing business with them.

That being said, most of our certified vendors are fair business people and also extremely helpful. My personal favourite would have to be IPP (Import Parts Pro)

I have nothing but good things to say about Z1, Zspeed performance, and THmotorsports...

I like Z1 too but Z speed customer service is great. I emailed back and forth for a week with tons of emails for my next clutch set up. Z1 gave me an attitude after 2 emails and helped 0

If you go through Z1 talk to Russ and nobody else. Z SPEED I talked to multiple with great help and experience which is what I want when I'm not sure what to buy. Not somebody trying to just push their stuff or push something more expensive without real world experience

I recommend CZP. I ordered my entire brake kit from them and they've been 100% helpful and accommodating to all of my questions along the way.

I wouldn't recommend JM auto racing. As others have said, there we multiple negative experiences with them. They told me that have authentic Chargespeed items in stock and for prices that seemed too good to be true. I verified with Chargespeed that they aren't even an authorized distributor of Chargespeed parts.

IPP are great people, I got all of my suspension through them and at a great price, they will definitely help you out especially as a forum member through here. I also use Z1 just because they are so close to home, they are good people as well, had them tune the Z couple years ago and they did an awesome job.

99% of the industry is drop ship only, it makes zero sense to stock items at great expense. Support small and local businesses, knock them if they give you bad service sure, but what you "exposed" here is the norm for tons of retailers.

I agree about the drop ship only part, and supporting local businesses, but there have been multiple threads about issues with JM racing. B2Auto is definitely reputable though, along with pretty much every other vendor posted in this thread excluding JM.

I wasn't defending the particular business.. I'm sure they have valid issues w the guy.. but... my point was only that calling anyone out for drop shipping.... and posting a picture of the guys house/address is pretty wreck. Plenty of schedule C painters and contractors in this country, same w small online parts businesses.

I myself certainly don't have a brick and mortar store front... w the prices and margins I am forced to sell at. lol.. no way. maybe if this was 2004. :)

That's NOT his home or business, but perhaps also a drop ship address just for mail. I had to send some pieces for his hydrodip service and it took UPS 3 days to find him to accept delivery. I was told I was shipping to his shop where all the work was done on-site, not in his bathtub, which is how the parts looked when I finally got, them back 2 months late and with extra charges added on to the previously-agreed price.

Interesting new tactic to quote another post and include whatever nonsense you're hawking, though...
