Your car isn't slower, it's just a false sense of quickness. Most loud cars are fast, so yours sounds faster, but it's not.
I've cut mufflers off before, but immediately put them back on. People used to tell me, "if you can't afford to do it right, don't do it at all"
It's true, but don't confuse doing it right with doing it the most expensive way.

so you guys were all pros the second you got into cars and knew everything? none of u guys ever had to ask a question that might be obvious to most Z owners, thanks for the help guys all very mature. you never done something just to see what the outcome would be? i didnt realize an engine needs back pressure, thats all i was looking for, go for it roast me im sure u guys have never done something once in your entire car owning career that might seem a little dumb. thanks for the help ****tards
But like stated, you're either going to have to replace it from the previous juncture on back or completely replace the system entirely if you're planning to go that route anyway, and if your funds allow.

And even back then, I knew that the exhaust pipe was on the car for a reason.
