Estimated install time on fuel return system?
 

I'm trying to work out the details of my single turbo install next month, and am curious about the average install time for a full AAM or CJ full fuel return system.

I will most likely be having this done professionaly, unless I can talk my friend into letting me have his garage for a few days. :cool: So, could anyone that has had either of these systems installed (either at a shop or DIY) enlighten me as to how many hours the install will take?

i think my kit could be installed in around 4 hours. you have to take off the plenum of course and then from there the hardest part is replacing the stock feed pipe with mine.

Sounds good. I'm still trying to find out HOW I would go about ordering your system. ;)

For a first time job...and not a professional mechanic, I would set aside about 6 hours...start to finish. It's not difficult..just a lot of crawling around in the car and under the car to route everything carefully and safely.

Does a fuel system like the one being mentioned in this thread involve installing an addition fuel from the engine compartment or complete replacement of the single line.....

I am not sure what you meant by your question. The AAM system starts at the quick connector on the passengerside engine compartment, and runs to the new rails and FPR..then a new line runs back to the tank, and returns fuel through the top of the fuel pump assembly. With CJ's system, he replaces the feed line from the tank as well.

It took me about 6 hours, but I spent about an hour or so taking the Vortech system off as well. It would have been much easier if I didn't have to do that.

zbicklin... by your comment, you mean removing the Vortech fuel system, right? Not actually removing any SC hardware?

Yup... sorry 'bout that. Removing the Vortech fuel system only was a bit of a beeyatch. Especially the "quick disconnect" part.

Sounds good. The guy at the shop said he could do it in 2-3 hours so that may have been a little low. But, he has to install new injectors that come with the turbo anyway, so he will already have the upper/lower plenum off. Hopefully that will, in fact, cut down on the total system install time.

Phunk - pleeeease get the site updated, the money you'd make from fuel return system orders alone will be well worth your time.

How is the fitment of the APS injectors w/ your rails ?

the APS injectors were test fitted and the fit was like stock.
