Dyno'ed my TT Z...Does this look right?

Just went to the dyno to make a few passes after I installed the AAM fuel return system.

338 @ 6PSI
365 @ 8PSI

This seems kinda low...What's going on?

Sorry, the pic is a little small and you have to have an account. I would appreciate it if someone can host this for me. :)

wow , thats really low. with the greddy tt kit you should be at 404 rwhp with you mods even more, whats your a/f ratio. How is your emange tuned?

send the pic to my e-mail so I can host it. gordygigi@comcast.net

Thats exactly what I was thinking. The A/F was at 11.3 before the fuel system was installed. The A/F after the install reads blank sometimes at WOT so I'm assuming the fuel return made it really rich. Even if I'm running rich, isn't stock boost suppose to make around 350whp?

Tantrum Z33 Sep 30, 2005 02:27 PM

Mike- email sent. Thanks

Here you go :D

taurran Sep 30, 2005 02:35 PM

Do you have an AFR chart? Doesn't sound too bad if you're running that rich.

D350Z10 Sep 30, 2005 02:40 PM

Take fuel out with the emanage. Do you tune yourself of have somebody do it? I had 5% taken out and now i am running perfect!

No, I didn't get the chart. I should have gotten one. :icon32:

If thats the case....Whew. I thought it might have been related to something being broken. I'll have my tuner(RPM NYC) take a look at it first thing next week.

Cronic Sep 30, 2005 09:46 PM

That tune looks pretty rough. I would really have him get in there and smooth it out. Would love to see some afr, or even the timing curve from those pulls.

bio911 Sep 30, 2005 10:21 PM

yeah the tune does not look smooth at all... maybe a crapy tuner.. find someone else and see what they can do for u

homiusang Sep 30, 2005 11:48 PM

agreed with bio911 and cronic. The curve looks real rough, and if i am not mistaken, these runs are base on a dynojet. And that # seemed low on a dynojet.

Sharif@Forged Oct 1, 2005 12:29 AM

Pretty low numbers.....the low power number is likely caused by an inefficient timing strategy, and possible too much exhuast back pressure. Ideally, at this level, you should have a true dual 2.5 inch exhaust.

westpak Oct 1, 2005 06:09 AM

He shouldn't have back pressure as he has test pipes and Injen exhaust so probably the timing and fuel as the curve is pretty rough but without AF ratio crve hard to tell which.

BoOsTedz33TT Oct 1, 2005 06:49 AM

i made 340hp on 5psi, with cats and a stock exhaust, its all about the tuner, make sure your tuner, even has the code's to unlock the emanage, I cant believe they didnt do a wideband o2 dyno, thats weird, looks like they just plugged in your ecu, and gave you back the car

I agree, not to knock the guy you've been working with, but have someone else tune it for you and just see what happens.

I see you're in the NY area, give these guys a try www.theexperience.com . I've never been to them so I can't give you a personal recommendation, but i've heard GREAT things. They have one of the fastest drag Z's around, and they work with Vinny Ten, so there's 2 endorsements right there. I would just give them a call and feel them out, if you're comfortable then maybe give them a shot at tuning it.

Tantrum Z33 Oct 1, 2005 11:29 AM

Thanks for the info guys. I'll talk to my tuner and see what he can do about it.

KwanZito- My first choice was to bring it to Westbury Nissan(theexperience.com)
However, they kept delaying my appointment for more than a month so I gave up on them. They are working on their shop car and won't be available until late Novemeber.

I am also very interested in their tuning ability because i only live about and hour or so from them. Does anybody have any kind of feed back on their tuning ability or have had their car tuned there ?

KTaylor Oct 2, 2005 01:45 PM

They are a very good group of guys. They built my motor. but latley they have been very busy. so if you can take it there i would but getting the appointment might be hard.
