How does my clutch look? My friend says that it's in good condition because the grooves are still visable. About 21k on the clutch. The purplish is from high heat in constant traffic. Glazed the term? =/

Dyno on Dynapak made 401whp. Should have made more but power dropped off at 5500rpms because of the knock detection anomoly. Couldn't fix it in time becuase of time constraints.

Thanks to:
Scott @ Ballistic Performance
Giles @ Holy Roller Dyno

Scott and Giles were execeptional with my their services. Scott was able to finish the entire install, including gauges in 4 days, which was pretty diesel. He did everything as he would to his own car. Lot's of attention was paid to the the small details. We also found that lots of piping and wiring was very close to hot spots of the kit. They were heatwrapped like crazy. The car fired up first time, then we found a hole in the Setrab core under pressure, had to get that replaced with a generic cooler from Autozone. After we got that fixed, we headed over to Giles for a tune. He worked on it from 4 to 9. It was $50 for each 15 minutes. He only charged me for 2 hours for the work that was actually spent tuning the car and not diagnosing the problems we had. The "5500 rpm" mark was the problem. After a day or so, I ran into some problems with the car not starting. The plugs were fouled. I was able to get it to run by turning off the injectors, buring off the excess fuel and recranking with a cleaner start. Giles helped a lot with troubleshooting. After a couple more days, and some more maps, the car a lot smoother. They are very good people and I would HIGHLY recommend them for an install. They are located in Manchester, NH.

TN OWNERS BEWARE: Watch out for your AC harness wires. Mine was burnt to a crisp because of it's location. Make sure it's rerouted away from the wastegate.

What are you talking about? Tiny intercooler? That intercooler is efficient enough to handle 14+ PSI of boost from this turbo. Look at the thickness of the core.

Zilvia Feb 23, 2006 10:46 AM

it doesnt look that thick.....but hey looks can be deceving(?)

down_shift Feb 23, 2006 10:50 AM

The intercooler is perfect. The system works very effieciently and spools alot faster than you would expect.

Like the other guy said.. should've heatwrapped... But it's no the end of the world. I had my G kit heatwrapped.. I can actually touch the engine bay!

The core is 3.5" IIRC but I will confirm. That is PLENTY think enough.

Zilvia Feb 23, 2006 10:55 AM

yeah just doesnt look it....looks like the puny ass Fmic my friend had on his cavalier

but yeah 3.5" shoudl work fine.....but it def makes for the sleeper look(if it was behind me i would never think it to have a Turbo on it)

nissansource Feb 23, 2006 11:03 AM

Beautifull!!!!

take pics of all the gauges installed. lol@ the AC wires. I wish I woulda known. Gotta get that fixed before summer.

Fairlady_z33 Feb 23, 2006 03:44 PM

Its a good idea of the fans for the intercooler but you should have done the holding piece open so some front air goes in by

The fans come that way from Turbonetics and they actually tested both ways. With a closed and open shroud. The design you see above provided the best air flow.

:icon22:

Sorry, you really have no business giving anyone here recommendations. Do you understand what having an oversized intercooler would do to the setup? The sizing that turbonetics included with the kit is perfect for the application, and also allows for the stock bumper brace to be maintained.

lucidazn - Good job on the kit, and welcome to the club. Those are some good numbers you've got there.
