Is is possible to have a turbonetics kit with no other mod's?
Ok, Maybe these NA mods arent for me, i really want a turbo, lets admit it the blow off's are a beautiful sound. I want a turbonetics kit. but does that kit come ready to just slap on the z? will i have to do any other mods or can i just buy the kit and pay for installation? thanks Russell

Um yeah you can just buy and slap on the kit. Though to be on the safe side of things, good to have some gauges to monitor what is going on... Wideband A/F, Boost, EGT, etc. You really should check out the Forced Induction section and do a search. |
If you mean mods like an exhaust, headers, etc then no you will not need anything. The kit was designed on a stock Z I beleive. BUT there are a few other things you will want, mostly to monitor what is going on as stated above.

I ran mine for 2 months bone stock with gauges. It was fine and hauled ass.

ok guys thanks, cause i had heard you needed to install an exhaust and headers. guess that was a bunch of bs. the turbonetic kit might be the way to go!

TN uses stock headers unlike the Greddy where you use turbo maniflolds. The install of the TN is much easier because of the fact.

There are quite a few people that are happy with the basic TN kit, and quite a few people that prefered to retune, and upgrade the basic setup. It depends on you really. None of the bolt-on kits are perfect out of the box, and most people eventually will add better EMS, fuel system, and tuning to enhance their experience, improve safetly, and geneate more safe power.
Take a few weeks to read up on the current threads in the FI forum. There is lots of good information out there. :D |
If you are looking to just add a turbo kit and nothing else the Turbonetics is perfectly fine. I would always recommend a boost gauge and wideband to any turbo kit but thats about it.

hey thanks everyone, I just wanted to make sure i didnt have to spend extra money on headers, exhaust, ect. I talked to Craig (taurran) with the redline turbonetics Z. That car is so sweet, lol the turbonetics kit is no longer a want but a need, so its time to save up my penny's so I can get it asap! :D
