At what RPM do you start power shifting? I tried power shifting yesterday from 3rd to 4th and I hit the rev limiter during the shift.

My shift points are as follows-when done correctly you wont even jump revs...

1-2 @ 7100
2-3 @ 6900
3-4 @ 6800

Thanks Acree

Hey Alberto, congrats on the time. I wanted to ask how the powerband is with the TN kit. Do you feel you would get a couple more mph in trap if you held the 2-3 shift as well as the 3-4 shift until 7100 rpm? Great run BTW.

^^ Maybe, I shifted at 6600 everytime on the 1st run. I always did better NA by shifting at 7100rpm's on the 1-2 shift, that would land me at 5500rpm's in 2nd gear. I didnt have a lot of time to try things out, the track was packed and on the 2nd and 3rd run I did the proven (for me) shift points, worked much better. WIthin 1 month Ill be going to the "fast" track I ran my 13.1 @ 107 at, Ill have the track mostly to myself, Ill have some things in store for then....

does your shift points work for non-turbo'd and non-reflashed/ecu Z's? when does the rev limiter hit exactly? i wanna try and see if it works for me as well shifting at a slightly later point rather than at redline

You need a 7100rpm limit-which I had via a Techno flash NA. And now my limiter is bumped via UTEC. On my stock Z, my limiter hit right at the 6600rpm redline.

I do Jiu-Jitsu. If your familiar with the discipline though we dont kick

Im glad you noticed that-its the #1 thing I always tell people who ask for shifting tips. Everybody has fast arms/hands(usually) but I always go for rides with people and watch their shifting technique, and their left legs are sloowww. I cant stress the leg speed enough, imo the difference between a good driver and a great one....
