Anyone have a Stillen Supercharger ?

I would like to know if anyone has the Stillen supercharger on their car. I am interested in the stage 3 unit with intercooler. Claimed to be very quiet and reliable. Power is supposed to besmooth from idle. I want it for fun not racing. Will it fit the '06 with the Stillen Stage 2 hood? Any info will be great!!

I dont think Stillet SC fits 06 just yet.

sidewayz2 06-12-2006 09:44 PM

I want it bad. Real bad.

wilric44 06-12-2006 10:47 PM

I will trade you my 05 for your 06 if you want it that bad. Has everything instaled just turn the key and drive.

Just kidding, just wait there will be something for the 06. If I had an 06 I would be calling JWT. They will give you just want you need.

chimmike 06-13-2006 05:23 AM

they claim it's quiet but they're fat liars, the stillen blower is the loudest mofo around.

Alberto 06-13-2006 05:45 AM

Yeah the Stillens are loud-but sound excellent. I recently drove one down the 1/4, it was so fun hearing that thing whine down the 1320...

TENGAI 06-13-2006 05:58 AM

Check with superchargedg. He's running the Stillen stage-3 setup. It's sick. The twin screw sounds amazing at WOT...

Wired 24/7 06-13-2006 10:44 AM

Plenty of people have it on their Z's.

It is the perfect mod for "having fun" as you said. As long as you have the funding to back it up. Also, blown motors are NOT IMPOSSIBLE with this kit even if they say it is reliable. Just a word of warning.

Try contacting Stillen to see if it fits the 06.

A lot of people bash the Stillen, but if it fits your wants and needs then go for it.

What they mean is it is quiet at idle. A lot of superchargers had a bad rep for being noisy at idle. The Stillen, AKA Magnuson EatonRoots, blower is indeed quiet at idle. It really whines at WOT, but I count that as a plus. This blower is on a lot of cars besides Zs and thus has a long track history. The low boost levels also tend to make the Stillen install reliable.

dude i read a lot of your post,s but you are so biased to the tn st it starts to make people sick.the guy wants to know if there is a s/c that will fit his car.so if you have no usefull info stfu.to the op stillen has a kit for 03 to 06 as long as its not a revup engine.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info. I would expect it to roar at wot I just want it kind of quiet at idle. I also think it looks "business" in black. The stage 2 hood appears to have a scoop on it that allows you to barely see the sc. Not to keen on having to change the hood too at 650.00 but for some reason I just like screw chargers and ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

abyss 06-15-2006 12:18 PM

how much power is the stillen stage 4 making?

You can go with the carbon fiber hood at about 700, but the fiberglass hood looks better IMHO. Unfortunately it needs a lot of work before painting and it is going to run more like 1400.

Why so little? not trying to upset anyone but why does stillen put out such little power? Thats what 100-115 more than stock?

grow the hell up. When in this thread did I mention the TN kit or anything about it or turbos vs superchargers? Talk about going WAY off topic.........thanks, now grow up. :icon22:

the open scoop in the hood would help a bit and look really, really cool. Local buddy of mine, MLG (the guy that builds z enclosures) has the 'whale' hood that has the scoop that isn't open......would look absolutely SICK if it was.

a far as the supercharger i like the whine up sound it makes, it kinda tells people you mean biz.

Does anyone know if Stillen is testing or planning a unit for the rev up 06 cars yet?

We did the Stillen Nissan day Show, and I attended the dog and pony show.

Steve Millen was asked that exact question, and he answered to the question of Rev Up's and the Super Charger. We are all ready testing, and have seen good result's.

From the owner's mouth.

Cheers Amy :) - :)

The Stillen is not known for big peak numbers. It is known for tons of power down low and power under the curve. I have the stage 4 kit and it is tons of fun and makes a lot of power. It is great kit for people who want to keep stock internals and have a fun street car.

I didn't want to make a new thread, so here is my take after riding in a Stillen car the other day.

OMFG!! That thing pulls like a monster. It feels like it would kill my Vortech from a dig or a roll. I don't know if that's true, but I didn't realize how much torque a Stillen really has from idle to redline. I think it even feels stronger in the top end. I believe it was a Stillen Stage 2 or possibly a Stage 3. Has anybody else ridden in both?

superchargedg 10-10-2006 12:26 PM

a stage 4 will kill a stage 2 or 3,but a vortech will beat a stillen in the 1/4 mile.stillen has all its power down low an up throughout the midrange, vortech has all its power up top, thats why it will beat the stillen in the 1/4 but not everyday driving though.

DMK 10-10-2006 12:43 PM

Really? The Stillen feels like it will leave me in the dust 0-60 or 1/4th. Not really sure what Stage it was.

superchargedg 10-10-2006 12:45 PM

its all smoking mirrors man... just like my 2006 Jeep Cherokee pulls like a mofo when i stomp the gas and still only runs 16 seconds... just like my buddy with his VW GTI swears his car is fast because he has all his TQ at 2000 RPMS and 3 short gears..

JMS71585 10-10-2006 07:17 PM

The stillen S/C does make some crazy power on the low end. But someone had stated that it makes 325whp in stage 4, and i think that is a little conservative. The stage 4 makes about to 345-350whp if not more. The stage 2 makes about 310whp and the stage 3 makes about 330whp. A friend of mine has the stage 4 with the stillen true dual exhaust, CAI, and some other little things, and he is making somewhere is the 350s whp. He posted the dyno sheet. But the kit is def reliable and ill prob invest in the stage 3 sometime next year, after i gather some funds.:rockout:

It depends on the dyno but those are a bit high.

Stage 4 is ~335-350
Stage 3 is ~310
Stage 2 is ~290

Still, not everyone needs 400whp and twin turbos to have fun.

I think the average Z owner will be very happy with the power from the stillen, especially stage 4.

MikeEwithTheZ 10-11-2006 02:32 PM

ya and if not just spray it

around how much is the stage 4 when it's all said and done?

I know this is a pretty old thread an all, but do you happen to remember what you ran in that Stillen Z? Just curious.

TTRANK 11-24-2006 06:31 AM

I think the best I have seen is a 12.8 but most of them are in the low 13's.

MSRP is ~$7500-8000

I have ~$6600 in mine but got great deals on everything.

pretty good deal considering that fact you get a 3yr/36mile warrenty and it dependable power.

Only stage 2 has the warranty.

I lost the warranty when I went to stage 4. It has still been a rock-solid kit either way.

Not as loud as a vortech, the stillen doesn't sound like a cement mixer lol

World Famous Z 11-26-2006 02:55 PM

I have the stillen stage 4, it's a nice setup. I worked with stillen closely on my setup, and will still be progressing with custom tuning via stillen down the road as well.
any info you want, just PM me, i can answer nearly anything regarding the kit.

but to answer your question, IF you are an AT 06, the stillen should work, if you have a 6mt, then you're outta luck for the time being. The reason being is that stillen has not finalized tuning yet for the new rev up motors.

Which stage did you drive? You are pretty well known to be a good 1/4 mile driver, what was the best time you pulled?
