Larger Blower Upgrade For Stillen On It's Way?

Ok there are some rumors going around that Stillen is working on a larger blower upgrade for the G/Z kit and it will be out near the end of the year. The rumor is that it will be an upgrade to the existing kit and the hood will still work.

Does anyone have any more info on it?

Pricing?
Power?

hey tim i spoke to them and there is no set price yet,and when i tried to quiz them about power they were tight lipped.then i said hows 400rwhp sound and all they would say youll see it by the end of the year.

Thanks.
I know you have posted that before; I just wanted to start a thread where anyone else with info could chime in. I didn't want to call you out again. :icon44:

I am most concerned about the price  and if they are going to offer a trade-up program. I am sure it will have some decent power gains. :skidmark:

man i cant wait to see this thats going to be a monster hope you dont have to buy a bigger hood to fit the charger cause for the 350z the hood choice sucks. but for the G's it looks nice.

THE TECH Jul 18, 2006 03:55 PM

I'm sure the hood will be even larger and uglier than the current one if Stillen continues on its same bodykit trends.

TTRANK Jul 18, 2006 05:32 PM

From what I was told they will fit it under the current hood.

I am more concerned with the price and if they are going to offer a trade-in for the stage 4 guys. I was about to go TT and have decided to wait and see on this first.

I've always had faith in STILLEN this is awsome news.It was all in do-time STILLEN would step up to the plate.Cant wait to bolt that bigger blower on and here it scream through the under pass:icon38:. ......Got.Torque:icon39:

helldorado Jul 18, 2006 07:35 PM

As I've said before, if it can build and maintain a minimum 350 lb-ft of torque through 6000 rpm, that will be enough to hit 400 whp. If they can do hold that from 2000-6000 rpm, that'll give the single turbo folks a run for their money. It'd be mean!

It does raise the question if the engine will need additional internal reinforcement or if it'll be compatible with all the stage 4 fuel add-ons. It would be really nice if they eliminate the 7th injector and go to 6 larger injectors. I'd hope for tunable management, but that might be too much to ask for.

TTRANK Jul 18, 2006 08:18 PM

I bet it will be too much to ask for a tunable kit but give me some more power for a decent price and I'm in!

helldorado Jul 18, 2006 08:40 PM

If all that's changed is just a larger blower, I'll probably opt for the custom route of taking their upgraded base system, ditching the 7th injector for 6 largers ones, fuel return system, fuel pump, UTEC, etc... at the time of install. I'm still a good year away from FI, so I can wait and see what Stillen comes out with.

Turbo is probably more cost effective, but I have the same problem with cars as I do with women. I'm a sucker for a good blower. :icon39:

they're coming out with an mb90.......... Sammy told me that where the stage 4 ends, this kit starts to come alive....so expect lots of power.........

VN_350z Jul 23, 2006 10:59 PM

I hope they come out with the kit that fits stock hood. All stillen hoods are ugly

BlackSpec02 Jul 23, 2006 11:29 PM

they wont come out with one for the stock hoods... its a roots blower, I believe they HAVE to sit on top... the only chance is if they also came out with an engine mount kit that lowered the engine down, but as high as the blower sits i doubt they could get it under the stock hood in any way.

M-90 Blower .. 1,500
440 injectors .. 550
Split Second box .. 500
Walbro 255 .. 125
10 pound Pulley .. 90
FMU .. 100
Intake port adapter .. 150 ?
and normal retail of markup +30% ?
This why I am going to try and do this myself : )

TTRANK Jul 24, 2006 08:01 AM

Hmmmmm

I have a set of 440's and a Walbro 255 now. If they gave a trade in for the stage 4 kit (blower, SS box, injector, pulley) it might take a good chunk off that price. I would gladly give them my parts and another $1,000 - $1,500 if it makes a big difference.

But at 10psi I would think a fuel return system may be needed?

There is no rule saying that a roots blower MUST be on top of the engine (though I will admit, it is the most convenient spot) but even is there was such a rule, I don't see why stillen couldn't redesign the lower plenum with shorter runners that would drop the blower down...
