Re-turbo my car or just get a C6?
Im not gonna lie, i love how the C6 Z06 vette looks and if i could justify spending that kind of money on a car, i would own one. Now the Z, i look at it as a challenge. To me, its not really a Z until it has twin turbos spooling under the hood. Its the same concept to me if they were to make the Supra without twin turbos! It may be just me but thats how i see it.......
Z all the way....

2. It's running fine right now. It's 100% back to stock except for the JWT cams and flywheel.
3. No, it's Happycat

The original poster here knows, because he experienced just about every issue. Unless you are either obsessed or rich, there is little point in going further. If your that type of person, no matter how much power you make, it will never be enough. So why not let it not be enough and be 10 grand richer and with a reliable car.... or would you rather be like the other guys who spend ****tons of cash on their car to have it STILL not be enough and then realize when its too late that they started with the wrong car and end up selling it? Cause thats what I see happen to at least half the guys that dont build their own cars.

Browse the Corvette Forums and see what kind of problems they are having....then think again about buying that C6.
I had one....got rid of it.......now looking at a z.

I've been all over ls2gto.com for the last mont or so and did not see anything to turn me off from the GTO, aleast nothing remotely close to some of the things that are going on in our FI section....
Maybe for the vettes it's different...

This is the reason why I have decided on a less expensive LS2 equipped car. Take a GTO and a Z, use same amounts of money on both and the GTO will walk all over the Z.
The LS2 with headwork, cams and exhaust can match any boosted stock bottom end VQ35 (assuming that the VQ35 owner actually cares about longevity).

I would have kept the Z and gotten the APS ST as well (mostly b/c I already have like 10G spent on upgrading the Z and I will recover a 1/4th of it at best...), but as we have discussed in many threads, I have absolutely zero confidence in having a 100% trouble free FI experience, especially considering I have a 5AT.
On the LS2 I will be able to achieve my power goals w/out FI.

I would by the C6(non Z06) in that deep orange color or blue. Very soon a bolt on supercharger will be released by Vortech and others and with 8psi, you should make the wanted figures on your car. Plus the C6 is standard targa top.
If I were to stick with the Z, I would throw either a built SR20-DET with 500WHP or a 6 grand RB26 and not worry about the bottom end until after 700whp. Plus like said before, a GT-R motor in a Z will always draw more of a crowd than a built, turboed 350z.

Failsafe: You haven't told us, or maybe I missed it, what you wanted out of the car. Daily driving? Is this your only car? What weather? Track/autox/drag? Grocery getter? Canyon-carver? You've said the budget APPROXimately equates, but what about the rest?
My modified Z32TT runs about 1/2 time, while our bolt-on Z33 runs ALL the time. That is the car that hits the most canyons, autocrosses, and track events because N/A power isn't affected by temperature outside, and is 98% reliable.

By your standard a Ferrari Enzo is a hopeless waste of a car since you can get the same performance for MUCH cheaper going another route.
