Headshots- a builtZmotors photo exclusive! Punish_her's motor
ok, now that I got your attention with the catchy title:icon18:
I know we all love pictures, we are currently wrapping up a built longblock for Punish_her, and I decided to take some pics of the ported and polished heads and the progress of assembling and timing a longblock. He wanted me to send him pics, I figured I would share publicly.:D This particular longblock package included the following: Wiseco Pistons 96mm Eagle Rods HKS Headgaskets ARP 1/2" headstuds (block machined with timeserts installed) ARP main studs Rev up oil pump-18% increased effeciency over stock Ferrea Valvetrain Upgraded Cams (customer provided- not sure the brand) Full port and polish overhaul gaskets- every gasket new from Nissan rear main seal main bearings rod bearings thrust washers machine block (with use of torque plates) balancing, polish crank redeck heads and block- to ensure mating surfaces between the block and the heads are exact Fully assembled/timed longblock Our price: $9400.00 REMINDER: One of the things that makes BuiltZMotors different, is that we sell all of our longblock packages fully timed! That includes assembly of the timing covers, the upper oil pan, and lower oil pan; the motor is then crated (fully enclosed) and then shipped, ready to drop in! We are also pleased to anounce that we offer the rear coolant modification for our motors as well!:icon38: Here's some pics, comparing stock heads to our custom port and polish work (port and polish performed by Jarod Legsdin of SCCA-Southern California Cylinder Heads). http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d158/drtodd/logo.jpg On a bone stock 350z cylinder head, with the port job only, these heads flowed approximately 30CFM over stock- keep in mind these heads are extremely effecient from the factory to begin with. With the added oversized ferrea valvetrain, the heads flow even better (will have flowcharts soon). http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1.../flowbench.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...lowbench02.jpg Stock intake: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6580.jpg Ported/Polished intake: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6581.jpg Stock exhaust: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6590.jpg Ported/Polished exhaust http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6591.jpg Now the pretty shiney part: stock valves on rebuilt heads vs Ferrea 1mm oversized: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6584.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6585.jpg oooooooh... awwwwwwww http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6586.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6587.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6588.jpg Timing gear, cleaned, prepped, and ready to go together... http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...IMG_6234-1.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6597.jpg the infamous HKS headgasket with the ARP !/2" head stud upgrade: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6598.jpg The last thing the piston sees before going into hiding... http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6599.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6601.jpg timing gear installed: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6604.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...d/IMG_6603.jpg This motor took less than 3 weeks to complete from the day the order was placed (the only wait was on machining- as always)... we are aiming to have our turnaround time be less than 2 weeks on custom combination builds (we have 3 more motors in the works as of now, to ensure we will have a healthy inventory at all times), and we will stock one sleeved shortblock and unsleeved shortblock at all times, for immediate shipping, or quick assembly of a longblock package! |
nice i cant wait until i can get one just got to save some money.
|
AHHH still saving my money. Not going fast enough.
|
Hey Todd thanks for letting me see your shop. You have tons of room in there. Can't wait to have you build me a motor. Probably in march. Unless I ....ooooopppps.....pop it a little sooner. haha
|
It's SO PURDY!:icon9: :icon11: :jawdrop:
|
what kind of power levels do these support?
|
he can get 620whp without problems
|
Hey Todd, so what's the additional cost for the pretty headwork and parts on this build?

Headwork, oversized valves, cams, figure an additional $4100-4600, depending on parts used... Thsi particular motor is priced as follows: Wiseco Pistons 96mm Eagle Rods HKS Headgaskets ARP 1/2" headstuds (block machined with timeserts installed) ARP main studs Rev up oil pump-18% increased effeciency over stock Ferrea Valvetrain Upgraded Cams (customer provided- not sure the brand) Full port and polish overhaul gaskets- every gasket new from Nissan rear main seal main bearings rod bearings thrust washers machine block (with use of torque plates) balancing, polish crank redeck heads and block- to ensure mating surfaces between the block and the heads are exact Fully assembled/timed longblock Our price: $9400.00 |

Thanks Todd. Why Wiseco pistons instead of Arias EDs?
|
Wow!!! That seems like a sh*t load of cash for a non-sleeved motor.

Very nice setup Todd. Thanks for sharing with everyone! :)

He wanted Wiseco, he's not going for over 600rwhp:eek: |
Tod
Really nice work, I am also going thourgh my built here in Canada I have a question for you. My built its not as crazy as yours, my question is do I need the ARP L19 head studs or will the normal ARP's be good enough 500rwhp with HKS HGs ??? I can seem to find the L19's should i be ok without them??

also, 1/2" head studs require lots of machining to do it right...hks headgaskets are not cheap..the ferrea valvetrain is pricey...most of the cost is parts ..and we time the motor and provide additional work that you would be paying someone else to do:D |
