Philthy's Base Tune Completed...

BIG Thanks to Don (Straight Line Automotive), Sharif (Forged Internals) and Jeff (Evans-Tuning.com) for all the effort and support.

The car is wicked fast, driveability is great, and the power curve is just exceptional. Jeff and Sharif had the car dialed in a matter of hours and making respectful power... It was decided that this was a good conservative base and it was best to give me some time to get used to the power, let the car fully break in, change fluids over to synthetic, swap the stock PE down pipes to 3.5" pipes, and a few other tweaking mods that are on the list before we tune on C16 and turn up the boost.

The current chart illustrates 10.5psi (wastegate springs) and 16.5psi... Fuel used was VP103, Jeff's shop is aprx 750 feet above sea level, and the dyno is a Dynapack 4000.

I took a couple of vids that are currently uploading to youtube and will post them shortly.

Are these on little old PE turbos??

350Zzzz Dec 17, 2006 08:03 PM

I believe he replaced the PE with the Garrett GT28RS.

Congratulations :icon44: Very nice numbers, we definitely need to plan a few big meets in 2007 :icon38:

+1. Amazing. Are you using FCON? Congrats.

Incredible Philthy....

Sharif@Forged Dec 18, 2006 06:56 AM

I am so happy your car is up and running. Philthy had an idiot's grin on his face the entire way back to his house. :D

Correct, Philthy has an upgraded GT28xx on his engine now. Apparently, it took quite a bit of persuasion to get them to fit.

And thanks for the hospitality...you and April are great people.

Yep - VPro, Knock APM, etc...

I'll post up a complete list of mods later, it'll take me a bit to create a list and it'll probably depress me once I realize how much money I've spent :)

fastGkid Dec 18, 2006 08:09 AM

I have a question what does the dyno sheet for pump gas looks like on it?

Philthy only runs 103 octane unleaded in his car at all times. It's a weekend warrior. :) So we didnt tune for pump gas.

Nice Nuce Numbers Phil.Im not familiar with the Dyna Pack software, what do the dotted lines and solid lines represent?
Come down with Don one day, the invite we discussed is still open.

Yes, it would interesting to do a DynoPack/Dyno Dynamics comparison. According to Jeff from Evan's Tuning, his DynoPack reads nearly identical to a Dyno Jet.

The dotted line is the 10.5psi wastegate pressure run, and the solid line is the 16.5psi run.

So it made about 550whp on 16.5 psi then correct?
