Who's dyno is this ?

I remember seeing this dyno a year or two ago . But I can remember who's it is . Some guy on G35Driver is claiming its his and its done with a Vortech SC @ 7.8psi . And just for chits and grins...this is what he is claiming on 5psi http://www.ismcentral.com/rick_dyno/rick_dyno2.jpg |
The first one looks goofy. Why is it loopy and stuff? I'd need a side by side to compare them, but it's hard because of the y-scaling

I noticed on the second one...the so called 5psi one . The trq. curve is not from a SCed car and not even from our motors . It keeps gaining trq. all the way to redline

first one says it was measured at the flywheel(bhp) which would lead to higher numbers.
bhp>whp i doubt it was actually done at the flywheel, maybe they used a correction number to get bhp from the whp numbers? |
No way that is from a VQ. Unless they turned the correction factor up for the torque curve more then the HP. You can do that with DYNAPAK software.
The car has a shtty tune. If a supercharger could pull that W/5psi I would take a crap in my pants and eat it. Goodluck on your search for the truth!!:) |
first one is done with the wheels off, hence, flywheel. It still measures whp.
2nd one doesn't look real. torque curve looks drawn.. I think you'd blow up your engine, to peak like that at the upper rpm. |

The loopy one is obviously wrong, nice tq curve... The car is a 5AT and it's not a load based dyno so running in 3rd is retarded if you are trying to get a comparable number.

The first one: Assuming an 18% drivetrain loss, that's 367whp. Seems about right, doesn't it? Why is it loopy? Maybe that was a shift from one gear to the next... (kinda strange though) Power drops off at ~5800rpms. And that's at 7.8psi? I don't see what's so BS about that. The second dyno sheet is strange... according to physics, the horsepower and torque should be equal at 5250 rpms. But they're not. So something is obviously up with the second dyno. I don't get it. |
Your not going to make 425whp and 379trq. with a AT5 on 7.8psi . DynoJet ... maybe . Load base dyno...no way.

yes I know,,,but ti still isnt a SC car nor even a G or Z car . Trq. keeps building to redline

No offence meant about the dyno jet . Just Ive seen some big numbers from them . Mostly big number sfrom people trying to simulate dynojet numbers with other dyno's

in the first one, the pull that is red and has the loop; a loop in a dyno graph is created by overlapping RPM. this will happen if for example the car missfires or cuts out so badly that the RPM falls and then it recovers and continues the pull. Back when I used to do dyno days and have countless random home-built vehicles dyno in a single day, i have seen the ole loopdy loop a million times.

The first one may be a G20 b/c the weight is super low. Looks like a SR20DET graph cut off at 6k rpm if you ask me.

Boog, why are you surprised the torque keeps building to redline? I thought that was normal for centrifugal sc? My AT5 torque line is fairly flat, but it peaks at 6500 rpm.

Yes mine is flat also , and peaks in the low 6000rpm range . But this one doesnt flatten out at all . It is always on a up hill climb
