Who's going to be the 1st to make a TT kit for the new VQ35HR? ('07 Z)
 

Well I've pretty much decided to go with a new '07 Z whenever my dealer gets one in stock. Sooner or later, I know I'll feel the urge to throw twins on it. I'm just wondering if any vendors have any solid info, or if anyone just wants to speculate. The new HR sounds like it'll have the potential to put out some impressive #'s on a stock block. I'd be willing to bet 500whp will be the norm with these things....providing Greddy or APS modifies their kit to fit this new motor :D

I going guess that you won't see a TT kit for the 07 before 2 years, they still have limited suppliers for my 06 front lip!!!
I hope its sooner than that but I really don't think so, especially since there was no word @ sema!!

I am sure you could just take a greddy kit and Ypipe the intake to both throttle bodies.

greddy was the first to the plate last time, but not sure if a lot of companies are going to bother with the 2007 Z with the new engine since it will only be out for 1 year before the next major 2008 redesign comes out - as the rumors are

Isnt the VQ35HR higher compression than the VQ35DE? Doesn't sound like a good combination with FI.

I bet APS will do it first, cause there vertical intercooler design will make their kit the quickest and easiest to adapt. A new top end tank with outlets on both sides, a little cutting thru the core support area on the passenger side (if its even required now that there is an intake there also, so the opening in core support may be there), and that should be about it.

Of course, this is all assuming that ANYthing bolts up to that engine the same, such as the manifolds.

Hmm, that makes sense. And if they decide not to come up with an official "07" kit, then it probably wouldn't be too hard for a good shop to fab up something.

your right. you can easily cut off the top end tank and fab one with 2 new intake pipes.

How about dual vortech superchargers? You could just run two separate intake pipes through two intercoolers stacked on top of each other so that the blower on the left is for the right intake and the right blower for the left intake. this intercooler design could work the same way for the turbos. It would actually be a more efficient way to run the piping since you wont need a collector like you do currently.

Injector pic says JWT which means they probly are already tearing it down.

The block is taller now, and with a V-config, this means that clearance is going to be even closer. There is a good chance, that the manifolds and turbos will not clear the inner chassis, without a good ol-fashioned beating.

But, like Phunk mentioned, if the manifolds dont physically bolt up, then game over.

We'll have an 07 here in 45 days, and we'll do some testing fitting on it. The piping and intercooler modifications would be relatively straight forward, but would definately require custom work.

I imagine Greddy will be the first out with a kit, as they can sell a lot more kits than APS, through the extensive USA and international dealer network. Just my two cents. The manufacturers will be looking at return on investment, and whether they can sell enough kits in 2 years (probably a new body style in 09), while still making a good return, remains to be seen.

well from wat i saw fyne tune here in miami fl... has the new 4 door g35 07 ... and there put a twin turbo lit on it.. it should be sick wen its done

It's a very close friend/customer car. As as he recieves it, its coming to our shop for a 1 week of disassembly, inspection, and testing. :thumbup:

We are waiting for the cars to be available and we have a kit ready to be bolted on and tuned.We just modified our intercooler(which is similiar to the APS unit) to run two intercooler pipes to the twin TB's.We will also have an intake manifold ready to go almost imeediately.We had a chance to check out an 07' thanks to JWT and it will be very easy to adapto the turbo system and our twin plenum intake to it.

Know how popular the new Z community is to FI, i think it would be a big F up by Nissan not to make the HR compatible with any of the kits. But hey maybe they just dont want ti to go down anymore....who knows
