Default HKS ST Code P1122

Just fitted the HKS ST and having issues. The car seems to idle okay but then will drop revs to about 500 rpm and then throw a P1122 code. When this happens the car goes into limp mode and wont pass 1500rpm.

If I reset the code and start the car and don't let it idle then the code does not appear. As soon as I let it idle 2-3 secs later the revs drop to about 500 rpm and then throws the code.

I have done the reset of the TPS and Idle as per the manual but at a loss. Any ideas?

BTW at the moment stock ecu with no other gadgets except some dials. Plugs are heat 1 or 2 steps colder

Have done a search on the code on the forum but does not return much except what the error is.

Cheers,
Michael

When did HKS release a s/t kit for the Z? That would have been the biggest news since the Z was brought back by nissan.

HKS announce the release of the new single turbo system for the 350Z. The kit
consists of the well known GT3037S HKS turbine. The kit features the following key
components:
• GT3037S Turbine (56T A/R 1.12)
• GT-II Wastegate
• Intercooler Assembly
• Cast Exhaust Manifold
• Oil Sump
• Catalaylic Convertor

This system* can be used on either a stock 350Z engine or, as recommended by
HKS for maximum gains and output, a 350Z engine equipped with HKS pistons, rod
and headgaskets. Performance on a stock motor will see power levels increase to
around 345BHP, whereas using HKS engine components can see power levels
increase by another 100BHP(445BHP).

*Large capacity fuel injectors and fuel pump are required. HKS recommend Injector (1402-RN011) and fuel pump (Nissan Stagea VQ25DET stock) are used. F-CON V Pro engine management is also required.
HKS have also produced a specific adaptor pipe to enable this turbo system to be
used with the HKS Full Dual Muffler (32003-AN001)

Well no one can really help him as this kit is only open to the other half of the planet. And being that most of our members are Americans............its kinda hard to help him with a kit we cant touch

If your talking about the single turbo kit it is out now. MrRizk has it installed on his car. I went over to his house to have a look and its a nice looking kit. Love the external HKS wastegate.

Troubleshooting this install should be similar to any others.

P1122 Electronic Throttle Control Actuator

I dont have a diagram but is this the motor within the throttle body?

During the install did you have to lengthen the cables running to the throttle body?
Do you have access to another throttle body that you can try and swap? You can try mine to help eliminate the TB as a possibility.

LOL, take that back for a start, you yanks dont know how lucky you are. It costs over $20,000 to have a turbo kit installed and tuned in the UK. . . .its a farce. besides the HKS kit is a rip off. Its over $8000

The only way you can adjust the idle is by going to the dealer, or if you have the drive by wire program.. I have tried resetting my ecu about 20 times and it wont adjust my idle either... My idle is currently at 700 but im going to take it to the dealer this thurs so they can raise it...

Update.. After 10 goes at the reset procedure and not making any difference I removed the TB and cleaned it out properly as it had some crud around the flap. I then re-installed and did the reset procedure about 5 times and the last go actually bumped up the idle.

On operating temp it hovers around 950rpm but after driving a bit it will idle at 1100 rpm.

Does not throw a code now but idle is too high
