Greddty TT K&N air filter replacement
2 Attachment(s)
Some of you remember the old thread where everyone was asking questions and there really wasn't any solid answers. Well, I installed the new filters yesterday and they fit perfect. I would suggest this to everyone with the Greddy kit. Greddy filters FTL! Part # RU-3390, your local autozone can order them for you.

Are there any gains from this? What's wrong with the greddy filters? (besides the cost which I assume is a lot more than the K&N ones).
|
The Greddy's are only about 20 bucks but they filter nothing, only big rocks, the driver's side intake/turbo gets filthy as everything gets past the Greddy filters.
|
Didnt know the Greddy mushrooms were that bad, I'll upgrade my filters before summer. Thanks for posting pics/PN's...

ron,
have someone paint them to match your engine cover. :) |
You could always use the JWT oil that makes the filters blue upon recharging them. K&N oil is red...
|
do you know if these filters flow the correct cfm?
|
Just from looking at the pictures it sure appears that you could get a longer filter to fit in that hole. K+N makes so many that it's hard to imagine you couldn't find something that was longer and pointed. Is that one a inverted cone on the end to at least add some extra filter size to such a small filter?

Some Info that I found about this filter:
These reusable K&N Filtercharger air filters outflow any other air filter--up to 900 cfm--for power gains of up to 15 hp. They use a surgical cotton fabric soaked in oil as their tack barrier. Sandwiched between an aluminum screen wire, the holes in the cotton catch tumbling air and straighten it out. Since air moving in a straight line flows faster, these K&N air filters actually improve airflow. They can be covered by up to 1/4 in. of debris before air restriction makes cleaning necessary. These K&N air filters come pre-oiled, and many are available as a direct fit for your application. So, if you want better performance from your air filter, then you need to have one of these K&N air filters in your ride. Specs: Shape: Conical Length (in): 2.625 in. Inlet Flange Inside Diameter (in): 2.750 in. Top Diameter (in): 4.750 in. Bottom Diameter (in): 5.875 in. Filter Color: Red Filter Material: Cotton gauze I believe it can be larger than that... a inch longer to get more air in there Maybe this one's will work: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku Is more than 2.62 in. longer but they are more conical, so maybe... I like to change mines but I want the most flow I can get... |
looks like ill b making a trip this weekend!!!
