Can we get a mileage count on all the JWT TT's out there?

Thats right you read the title. The JWT kit has been out a while now so I think its time we do a mileage count. Post it up along with any problems you've encountered and any other pertinent information. Make sure to tell us if it is the stock kit or if you made some minor adjustments.

In case your wondering a recent blown engine with this kit made me want to make this thread...Thanks and if you own the kit please post...

25k miles since delivery 6-06. No problems with the kit or the built motor since than. A lot of downtime since June for other mods. Daily driven, my commute is 100+ miles a day.

Hey I think I saw your FX at Peformance Nissan some time in January. I think you had a VRT emblem and Nismo wheels at the time?

If it was diamond graphite (silverstone to the Z) yep that was me. Was probably picking up some parts. Should have said hello!

".......In case your wondering a recent blown engine with this kit made me want to make this thread...Thanks and if you own the kit please post" ...that statement is totally biased & misleading without more infomation :icon44:

^^^^^^ +10000. The blown motor was Noah, and he will be the first one to tell you that it WAS OF NO FAULT OF THE KIT. Read his post a little more carefully before you post about it like you are. --Thanks

I know of MANY, MANY JWT TT kits with stock motors that are driven daily, driven hard, and still problem free. Severall with 30K + miles on them and a ton with 20k+ on them.

zman1910 Mar 11, 2007 08:47 AM

Theres no bias in this thread...so stop trying to make that argument and ultimately screw this up. That would suck to buy a kit while being biased against it.

This thread is for those considering a JWT TT kit and since we have a thread about all the other kits...I think its time we have one for the JWT TT. They have had ample time to rack up a few miles now.

Since you all claim to know so many stock kits that are running perfectly..how about getting them to post up to prove yourselves correct instead of whining. Oh and by the way MRC has already stated what the problem was...so maybe the rest of you need to read that thread more carefully instead of just reading what you want to read...

Car had 35k when installed in October 2006, has almost 40k miles today. So almost 5k miles

NoahzBurnt Mar 12, 2007 07:01 AM

i'll chime in.....was not the kit.....enogh said!!!

best 11K miles I ever had....drifted the car, tracked it, commuted daily 70miles round trip, raced vipers down highways, u name it my car did it...countless 800 miles round trips from NY to DC

bad oil change, belts and crank pully.....that could have happened to any car FI or not....

after the car went bye bye....i honestly would go JWT all over again

No cockpit warnings of impending disaster?? Oil press/low level?

TheCajunStyle Mar 12, 2007 10:32 AM

Installed at 6,000 miles, now up to 15,000 miles.

Yes, that's 9,000+ miles of HARD driving and 50+ 1/4 mile runs. The majority of those were on July 7, 2006, when the temps were around 95 degrees.

Kit and engine are 100% stock.

Only issues I've had so far are disconnected IC piping and a bad exhaust manifold gasket...

zman1910 Mar 12, 2007 12:29 PM

Thanks..now thats what I like to hear...

Navygolf13 Mar 12, 2007 12:43 PM

What you like to hear that people are having small problems??? Dont quite get that...but okay. So, you say a built motor doesnt count for miles? In my opinion that is the only way one should go FI.

But that's why the poster of this thread asked for problems with stock kits and motors---your data, if I don't have a built motor, does not help me decide if I should risk going FI w/o a built motor.

I think he said that because I made a good reply, you know, one that was to the point--it answered exactly what he wanted to read: mileage, problems, etc. He wasn't looking for opinions.
