VDC on TT Z's

Hi Guys,

If you driving a TT Z on VDC can it damage your engine... especially when you give full throttle.

Regards

Alberto Oct 15, 2007 01:13 PM

No it wont damage anything. Just dont keep giving it throttle when it kicks in.

I leave my VDC on most of the time, unless I am planning on getting sideways.

the VDC is very effective on a TT car.

My car spins right through VDC

r0mey Oct 15, 2007 04:19 PM

yea i leave my vdc on too

WA2GOOD Oct 15, 2007 04:36 PM

Out of habit, I always (first thing after starting the car) turn off the VDC. I hate it when it kicks in and takes the controll out of MY hands. :D I got used to this tactic ever since driving the cars with the LSD's in them. The computer doesn't like the LSD sometimes. But it is probably a good idea for most people to just leave the VDC on. Hate to see even more totaled Z's.

what is VDC? are we talking about the traction control?

LOL.... Close enough. Thanks for the help (but I still like the "dimension" word better) :D

my car ran like crap with the vdc on.

fklentz Oct 15, 2007 06:14 PM

I leave it off most of the time. I've found that if I leave it on and carefully drive to avoid it cutting power that sometimes in fourth gear when I think a little more throttle is ok it will cut power still, scares the kerap out of me.
Also I was under the impression that it cuts power by cutting "fuel" at the injectors, is that is true?

i hate VDC =). i drive with it off all the time.

KPierson Oct 15, 2007 07:14 PM

One word - KPtechnologies VDC Memory Switch!

Shuts VDC off everytime you start the car.

overZealous1 Oct 15, 2007 09:25 PM

i leave it on for the most part. really i never get it to kick in because i know the exact point it will cut in and can hold it there, lol. there is a point you can still haze the tires and it won't try to cut it.
the actual vdc portion sucks though. had it trying to lock up my inside front tire hitting a country road turn at 120mph. almost pulled me off the road, and i was not even close to sliding to start with!!

QuadCam Oct 16, 2007 04:13 AM

I test my vdc all the time in the rain. the car will get a little sideways and the VDC pulls everythng right back in line.

like overzealous said, you can spin the tires decently in a straight line and the vdc won't do anything. kind of nice.

I saw you posting in this thread and was thinking you might say......"it's just extra weight in the car. get rid of it, and get some ET Streets so you don't spin. :icon39: "
