HKS twin turbo kit pictures

This may be a repost, but I had not seen much on this topic. Here are a couple pics of the HKS twin turbo kit coming out.

According to the HKS reps, it has been finished and is in the US for testing. They are hoping for an early/spring 2008 release. It will be offered with 3 different levels of turbos. It appears to be a tuner kit, as the contents did not list fuel, management, or intercooler though I suspect they will be making a kit for that. Reps also said it should be retailing between $5k-6k.

too bad they went with internal gates. I just prefer external wastegates.

Looks like it

The J spec turbo kit has stainless manifolds and these look like the D series cast manifolds

The Cast pieces will offer a little more durability and ease the cost for mass production

Pray they make a carb legal version! lol

One thing they have going for them, they will have better support than Power Enterprise if they have support at all.

What is the difference between internal vs external wastegates? Is external preferred simply b/c there's less chance of the actuator going bad?

Thats what I was able to understand after reading this:

MIAPLAYA 11-04-2007 05:56 AM

Isn't GTM using these same turbos and manifolds for their HR turbo kit?

A dual port external wastegate allows for more control when using upping the boost past the gate spring pressure.
