Dual in-tank pump - what's the deal CJM????

Couldn't find the thread....haven't heard anything about this in a while and last I heard, prototypes where being shipped out after the first run of production....which was months ago. Phone calls and emails being ignored....whats the deal CJM? The guys going for big power wanna know!!!!

I guess no one has heard anything?

failsafe306 Nov 15, 2007 12:10 PM

I guess if it were out, or even any new developments, we'd all know about it by now.

its done. its just waiting in line for production. we have had tons of delays in getting the new batch of rails done, and they have priority. if the rifle driller follows thru and gets us our rails back today then we can make twin pumps next week. but unfortunatly the entire production process is not in our hands, so sometimes we just wait, and wait, and wait.

not sure where all your emails are being sent, but i havent got any.

BTW if you want one, we can take orders... but it can be anywhere from 1 - 3 weeks before it ships.

sentry65 Nov 16, 2007 09:21 AM

just curious, what's the cost anyway?

phunk Nov 16, 2007 10:12 AM

They are $785 including both pumps for now. We will include the connector and terminals, but for now we are not packaging a wiring kit for it, the customer will need to wire a relay off the stock wiring and what not. we are also not currently offering a full stage 3 kit, so customers will have to come up with a plumbing solution to feed this into the hardpipe on our stage 2 kit, or whichever system they currently have. not that any of that is difficult, but just wanted to mention.

this pump assembly does not have idle fuel pressure problems. this assembly does not have siphon problems. this assembly is solid.

Charles,

Will the new dual pump setup be able to be modified to fit the G sedan?

phunk Nov 16, 2007 04:39 PM

Most likely this can be done. The siphon hose will need to be cut and then some type of barbed coupler will need to be used and then you can modify the siphon hose inlet on the pump assemble to accept what you come up with. It shouldnt be a big deal. Also, some intank baffling will need to be removed for clearance.

phunk Nov 16, 2007 06:31 PM

the rifle driller came thru for us. over the weekend we will be complete filling the backorders on rails. so its a for sure thing that next week is set aside for production of some twin pump assemblies.

I was more concerned with the depth of the unit? isn't the sedan tank either deeper or shallower than the coupe/Z tank? Do you still have a sedan fuel pump assembly at your shop?

phunk Nov 17, 2007 09:36 AM

if its shallower it could get difficult, I think we could easily shorten one about a half inch but thats probably it. Making it taller would be easy. I am not sure if the level sensor mounts the same.

I do still have a Seden pump here, but its kinda dissected.

will someone (knowledgable/non-A$$hole)please explain the benefits with a dual fuel pump setup? Obviously more fuel, but please break down the specifics ... will this help get more power out of pump gas,pros/cons, what about it your looking to acheieve with it,etc... thnkx..

Added safety by ensuring that the pump is not a limiting factor volume/pressure wise when reaching for high boost/horsepower numbers where large amounts of fuel are needed.

Old School Nov 18, 2007 05:54 PM

^^ yea, the single walbros are starting to max out as people start targeting quaduple digit numbers. Or even 750+whp.

Alberto Nov 18, 2007 06:22 PM

General consensus even 1 year ago was 600whp and the single Walbro is done. While there have been more than a handful of race gas/meth examples proving that wrong, over time it may not be very reliable. IMO for guys looking for 600+whp a twin pump set-up is mandatory.

I was going to say that even 600whp can be pushing it for a single pump if you are relying on boost and don't have a number of supporting mods like built heads and the like make things more efficient.
