STS Turbo kudo's Financing available!!!!

Well I found out today that they have a guy that does financing for their turbo kits lol... I was just joking around with Freddy at STS about financing a Turbo kit.... he gave me the guys info and now I may have my kit by next week lol..... I think its better because I didnt have enough to build my motor and turbo so this way I can put the money back I was going to spend and just pay monthly.... so if I blow my motor I will be able to just build it then hehehe.... anyways just thought I would throw that out to you guys that may want a rear mount turbo but cant quite come up with 5k.

Financing anything for your car is just a bad idea.

Think that would depend on your credit score. Wonder what the rate would be for someone w/ good credit.

Depend what kind of interest you are getting. If they will charge you 1%-2% interest then it may be worth while since you can use the rest of the money and invest it somewhere else, but if it is more than 4% then no thanks coz you'll owe a lot more in the end...

:+1:..specially for a turbo kit.

ekelly36 Jun 13, 2008 08:22 AM

The only reason I want to do it is because of that very reason.... if something goes wrong I want more than enough to fix what happened.... I dont mind spending 150 bucks a month for it..... hell that is what I would spend if I went to the bar.... I will end up paying more but its worth it to me......

I'm sure the rate would be at least 10% even with good credit. Nice to hear about some financing options though I wouldn't do it myself.

:icon18: nobody is going to offer financing for something like that for 1 - 2 %, it will easily be over 10% even with good credit.

I know it was stupid, but i financed $4k of my F/I kit when I refinanced my car loan (yes, financing the car along with the F/I kit - bad idea). I got a rate of 1.99%, so it's a pretty nice payment and saved me a bunch of money over a normal car loan. And if I blow my motor...then I just have to let the car sit a while and still make payments.

I was thinking more of a credit card loan..lol Most of my credit card are 0%-2%. Last one I had is 2.9% until the credit is payed off.

JonnyC Jun 13, 2008 01:30 PM

Yeah, I got one of those check dealies from my CC company that was 1.99% for the life of the loan - worked out great. Not sure how they are making their money - I guess just banking that I will screw up on my payments.

drewk Jun 13, 2008 01:38 PM

Thats pretty cool they would offer financing. I'm in the market for FI, I just cant make up my mind. Ekelly, what made you go with that specific turbo set-up?

ekelly36 Jun 14, 2008 07:34 AM

I am going with STS because it makes more torque than a supercharger and I dont have to run as much boost because the charge air is cooler..... imo its safer..... and I dont have to worry about turbo manifolds and all the heat under my hood..... and the financing hasnt gone through yet.... they basically have a shop that arranges financing with a credit union there in Utah. My credit is not that great so I doubt I will be approved..... then again I was approved for a 28k car.... I dunno.....
