I remember it was a little finicky though. Guages definitely have to be electric as you don't have a lot of depth to play with.
I'll go pop one out tommorow and it'll jog my memory.. I remember I had trouble with the right one looking flush, but got it in the end.
It was nothing major though. I'm not terribly handy when it comes to fabrication and things of the sort so If I could do it, I'd say anyone could.
It is definitely possible to get a nice flush finish though. Don't let some of those "ATi Pod sucks" threads scare you off.

This is the only pic i have right now, everyone was right about they have to be shallow gauges, but fit perfectly with my Innovate WBs, Since its really designed for a Z you cant see below ~25mph and above 7.2krpm which isn't a problem for me.

if you havent already purchased gauges; id highly consider a zeitronics display. i love mine. displays everything i need. i mounted it right on top of the steering in the factory gauge cluster. others cant really see it.

Honestly when i first installed it everyone was like "thats stupid, you cant see your speed" etc, but after they sat in it most changed their minds and liked it, it very convenient place for AFR gauges.

no its more like 7200-7300+, I shift @7k and have no problem seeing it, its just the angle of that pic. That pic wasn't intended to showcase the gauges, it was right after my 3.3VLSD swap so the pic was taken with the cam resting on the steering wheel, at a much lower angle than you sit. Ill try to take a better pic this weekend and post in here.

how many times does the gauge gauge just drop instantly and you need to be able to see it in the blink of a moment? never
You can just crane your neck around and check the gas gauge one time when you get in the car and you're done. I could drive my car without a gas gauge just like i drive my motorcycles that have no gas gauge. You just watch how many miles you have driven on that tank of gas.

the day before that pic i got alot of wheel hop at the drag strip and knocked off the wire going to the sending unit
edit: and as far as the "How to: Drive your car without a gas gauge" I know all about that it was 3weeks before i had a chance to fix it
