Yea, Lane was living with Mark on his second tour workin at SGP. I was there when Shawn was too. Not sure what drama happened with him that made him leave, or if he got fired. It was all kept pretty hushed.
And yea, impossible to get them mixed up. Lane was a 6"2' white boy with dark hair, Shawn was a stubby mexican with glasses. Lol, he was a cool cat though and brought alot of Subie knowledge into the shop.
And dont bother modding your rx8's just too much nonsense. They don't like it. I put a reman engine into an rx8 that had blown its previous engine from driving under boost with no tune. Started it up with the reman and it ran well, after Mark went out for a test drive, it came back with a miss that would not go away no matter what we did. And no the engine wasent blown. Compression numbers were perfect, even though the seals only had a little run time to seat them in.

I remember seeing a Yellow RX8 there forever!! It had Fcon, and made like 200 whp..

We sell tons of RX-8 turbo systems.It is one of our biggest sellers.The rotary can be a pain but there are a few who have broken the 400WHP barrier on a bone stock engine.The miss you were experiencing was probabaly ignition miss.They tend to have issues withthe ignition systems but the Renesis motor is much more stout then the old 13b based on changing the exhaust ports to the sandwich plates which prevents the apex seals from blowing out so easily.

400hp on boost with the already 10.5 :1(?) compression? It's been a while since I've spoken with anyone in the rx-8 community so I don't doubt you. But being an rx-7 owner myself I really wasn't crazy about some of the timing problems I'd heard to be attributed to the new timing plate at the front of the engine. And the constant miss that we couldn't get rid of turned me off pretty bad.

Yep about 1 bar of boost with a good size turbo wil net you 400WHP on the stock compression.We dont know how long engines maxed out like that will last but it has been done.We keep our system down in the 325WHP range which gives the 8 enough power as say a 375-400WHP Z, IMHO.
Ill stop bye and see wtf is going on..

Mark has stopped returning my text. I went to SGP a few weeks ago and he gave me some parts to sell. He still hasnt paid me a dime in cash. He still owes me several thousand dollars!
