Powerlab's complete (with some pics)

Damn this car feels fast as hell! And it's only 330 rwhp@6 PSI.

Just finished putting the car back together.. here are the pics.. sorry it's cold as balls outside so I stayed in my garage for these /w low lighting.

It's so fun driving it.. but I'm afraid for my stock clutch and speeding tickets so I stay off the throttle :D

Special thanks..

Marty@Injected Performance: For the great customer service, great deal, and for trying as best as he could to get me those injectors!
Han@Intense Power: This guy is crazy, he has no problems helping newbs on THANKSGIVING. He even picks up the phone at like 11 at night to answer more questions. Also, since my car had a little differences in design that he had no idea about.. he agreed to pay some cost for labor to get the kit to fit!
Jeffie/z2envy: Thanks for all the help through PM's, it really helped me on the part of the kit I could do myself.
Dave@Function Tuned: You worked on my car even if you had a really bad cold. It looked pretty bad when I saw you but still.. high quality professional work. I'm so happy with the tune and power.. and the potential for more is there to be tapped. Btw you should quit smoking, those cigarettes will kill you someday :(

Quicksilver: Thanks for answering my questions over IM!

And last but not least .. someone who isn't really known to Z tuner's and may never read this post .. but Mike@Mach V Motorsports(DSM Shop).

Mike has over 20 years of industry experience under his belt and he was the one who had to weld and deal with all the fitment issues that I had with my kit and car. In the end, I was very pleased though that everything turned out so well.

In case you were wondering.. the kit shipped with a 6-7 PSI spring so I couldn't up the boost to 9. No matter though because I'm still happy.

Btw who the hell has my strut bar?...

Looks good and sounds like you got many people that went the extra mile for you, that's always nice to hear.

One thing though, why do these manufacturers build these kits with so much piping under the hood? I met a fellow Z owner here with a Turbonetics kit (even less piping under the hood) after some spirited driving. He opened the hood as soon as he stoped and got out of the car, I put my hands on the intake piping, and that thing was roasting hot.

I am about to start fabricating my own kit, should be fun.

glad you are happy with how the car turned out!.. those are very good numbers btw, about 360whp dynojet considering you are with stock exhaust.
Careful with the cold roads :ugh2:

+1 and you need to remember that Dave's dyno reads low.....now just be careful with the new boost and theses cold ass roads.

I totally know what you guys mean now with "Cold Ass Roads"..

Didn't notice this before boost but in second gear and maybe even 3rd the car begins to SLIDE forward it's kind of weird. So much for traction control!

z2envy Dec 8, 2008 03:08 AM

Grats on the install and the tune man! Welcome to the FI world ;)

You will have a blast driving this thing around now. That 2nd gear slide is no joke! If you probably looking for a decent clutch/flywheel combo look into that JWT combo package. I have that on my car and I've had no issues and it's good for about 500hp. Decent price to.

Can't wait to get mine retuned...it'll give me a good comparison with your stats

Do you have any odd whistle noise when you let off the gas after a hard boost? any jerk after letting off the gas as well? seems like the DIYer's don 't have this problem...maybe they cared more and did a better job putting it in than mine

I do notice some sort of whistling noise but that's when I'm like coming to a stop light but it's very quiet and hardly noticeable. I think it's normal.

The jerking wouldnt be something caused by the kit itself..
