Willie, im still in shock. This does suck and i know how you feel. However, find another stock block and put it in and keep the car. If you build the block, you're lookin at 4k plus new injectors, new plugs and a retune plus other things such as new headgasket, headstuds and labor of assembling the motor. Its not worth rebuilding unless you are into racing.

It took me a month of searching to find a motor for 800. If you are patient, youll find one and i feel bad since summer is coming up and your motorless. Ive been in that situation last spring and it sucks.

hard to tell what happened till you tear it apart, but anyways, it was still a stock engine with 70k miles total...10k miles boosted.. ...some people get more out of stock block, but so many factors from driving conditions, maintenance....... i dunno... at the end of the day, as long as you had a stock block you should have always considered this could happen at some point. IT SUCKS, i know, but don't make any decisions pissed.... i think if you part out that would be disappointing .
Build engines don't take that much this days if you are just looking for a mild build. Good luck!

Damn dude that sucks, sorry to hear Damn. To think I've had my TN kit on for over 2years/28k miles and UTEC for an EMS. I'm also running 8lbs and check the oil regularly...the motor still idles quietly *knock on wood* Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but I think you should keep it and do a mild build...

My bro always told me you were extreme with your maintenance..
Sometimes **** just cant take it anymore. like Sharif said, the TN has some real heat issues. I remember Julian showing me the IAT variances from run on TN kits on the dyno. pretty crazy
So did any pieces go through the turbo?

No matter what you choose...built or stock block, you should have your turbo checked for metal in the oil. It wouldn't be worth all the trouble of replacing the motor just to have it fail again because of metal in either the turbo oil lines, or in the turbo itself.
Be smart and good luck.

yea you got me their with the utec running only when boost is present. Im so used to my car that runs off the haltech alone my bad. Then yeah aside from that might just be oil issues
