Have any FI'ers had any kind of throttle response issues?

My car is acting up, and I'm wondering if anyone here has had any throttle related issues. Specifically, unresponsiveness to pedal inputs.

If the tune is good, then it could be the throttle blade motor going out.

There is the APP calibration and TPS calibration that should be performed after an ECU reset. It's just basically turning the key to the on position, then off but I forget the delay required. It's all in the FSM.

Does it go into limp mode?

If it's a complete dead pedal feel, scan for codes. My money is on a bad TB. They are prone to going bad.

yep def a known issue - we just replaced the one on our Murano a few weeks back for the same reason...would start and stall

Out of the blue mine is starting to do this, is this an early symptom of a TB problem?

Z1 Performance Oct 5, 2009 09:27 AM

Yes, assuming nothing else is wrong. This is on my gf's car. Once it did it a couple times, we just brought it to the dealer and they took care of it without a charge. Not sure if its a TSB or not

Could be idle tuning also Brian (weather dependent change in AFR).

You're probably right, getting much cooler up here.:icon22:

TB issue

or

Do you have a KP Technologies brake boost module?

JAM3Z Oct 5, 2009 10:13 AM

Ok, I replaced the TB a week ago with a brand new unit, so it can't be that. I scanned for codes and got P2122 and P2138. I don't remember spefically (i'm in class now), but it has something to do with pedal position sensor correlation and voltage. Very weird as I've never heard of on of these failing on our cars.

Unlikely. SC is pretty temperate.

I should also note this problem has gotten progressively worse over the past since it started a while back.

good luck!

rev the RPMS up to 5000 rpms while driving.. watch the RPM drop.. if it pauses at 2500rpms or so.. its your camshaft pos sensor

^When I pulled the codes, nothing came up about that, so hopefully thats not it.

+1, i have a used one in my garage. If you need it, just cover for shipping.

Edit: just read other post that you replaced new TB. Have you try reset ECU using a pedal? Sorry, if i missed somewhere.

Definitely good to know. I took the car out for a semi-spirited drive today and I didn't have the problem you described, so I'm ruling it out for now.

Edit: Chef, I DID do the ECU reset when I replaced the TB.

Chef-J Oct 5, 2009 04:25 PM

TB is kinda pain a$$ to deal with, especially with Nissan. Everyone having a diff issue or without any issue after replace TB. I messed around with TB few times before and it really didn't give me any problems. Expect the one time when i changed my TB to new ones. It crank up and die, crank up and die. That won't even let me do throttle body relearn postion and No code. Took out battery and tried press pedal untill it gets warm and stay for 1 mins and died. I tried another few nights to crank this car, but no luck.

It is really hard to point it out, when it comes down to eletric issue.
